About The Role

Ericsson Enterprise is seeking a Senior 5G Test Engineer to join our team to drive end-to-end validation and quality assurance of 5G NR and core solutions. The successful candidate will play a key role in designing and executing test strategies, troubleshooting complex issues across RAN and 5G Core, and ensuring system-level performance meets customer and product requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop and execute manual and system-level E2E test cases covering RAN (5G NR) and 5G Core (SA) scenarios.
• Prepare and maintain test plans, test strategies, and test case documentation based on requirements and specifications.
• Perform detailed call-flow and protocol trace analysis (L3 and signalling) to debug and isolate complex end-to-end issues.
• Conduct interoperability, performance and KPI validation tests across UE, gNodeB, and 5G Core elements.
• Use and operate UE simulators (e.g., Viavi, Amarisoft) and other lab test equipment to reproduce and validate issues.
• Collaborate closely with product teams, software engineers, and field teams to reproduce customer issues and drive defect resolution.
• Work with cloud-native 5G Core and Kubernetes environments to validate CNF behaviour and deployment scenarios.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of test processes, tools, and test automation where applicable.
• Mentor junior engineers and share best practices in test design and debugging.
  
  

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Telecommunications, or related field.
• 8–10 years of hands-on experience in wireless testing with strong focus on 5G NR end-to-end testing.
• Deep knowledge of 5G NR SA and LTE technologies and practical experience across RAN and 5G Core.
• Strong understanding of 3GPP specifications with emphasis on Layer 3 protocols and signalling procedures.
• Proven expertise in call-flow and protocol trace analysis for debugging complex E2E issues.
• Hands-on experience with UE simulators such as Viavi and Amarisoft.
• Experience preparing test plans, test cases and conducting requirement analysis.
• Working knowledge of cloud-native 5G Core and Kubernetes environments.
• Familiarity with KPIs and system-level performance validation.
  
  

• Exposure to test automation frameworks and Python scripting.
• Previous experience working within an Ericsson environment or with Ericsson products and toolsets.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and container orchestration in test environments.
