Job Description

Our client builds scalable SaaS products for B2B and D2C businesses. They are seeking a Mid-Level Backend Engineer to design, develop, and maintain reliable backend systems powering their applications.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and Development: Design, develop, and deploy highly scalable, reliable, and maintainable backend services and APIs using Node.js and related frameworks (e.g., Express, NestJS).
• Database Management: Implement and manage efficient data storage solutions, working with both relational (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL (e.g., MongoDB, Redis) databases.
• API Development: Build and maintain RESTful and/or GraphQL APIs.
• Testing and Quality: Write clean, well-documented, and efficient code, and implement unit, integration, and end-to-end tests to ensure high product quality.
• Collaboration: Work closely with front-end developers, product managers, and designers to understand requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
• Performance and Optimization: Identify and resolve performance and scalability issues, optimizing the application for maximum speed and stability.
• Deployment & Operations: Participate in the deployment process and contribute to the maintenance of CI/CD pipelines and cloud infrastructure (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP). (Senior engineers will be expected to drive these efforts.)
  
  

• Mid-Level (4–6 years) with proven ability to independently deliver features.
• Strong understanding of core Node.js principles and basic cloud deployment.
• Background in B2B or D2C products preferred.
  
  

• Core Languages: Strong proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript and Node.js.
• Frameworks: Experience with common Node.js frameworks and utilities.
• Databases: Solid understanding of database design and proficiency with at least one relational or NoSQL database.
• APIs: Expertise in designing and consuming RESTful APIs (or GraphQL).
• Version Control: Proficient with Git and standard development workflows.
• Testing: Experience with testing frameworks (e.g., Jest, Mocha, Chai).
  
  

• Experience with microservices architecture and distributed systems.
• Familiarity with containerization technologies like Docker and orchestration tools like Kubernetes.
• Knowledge of cloud services (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
• Prior experience in a DevOps culture, including setting up CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI).
• Experience with front-end technologies like React or Vue.js is a plus, though not mandatory.
