As a Risk Manager for Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) at Amazon, you will play a crucial role in our commitment to environmental responsibility and sustainable business practices. Youll lead efforts to ensure Amazons compliance with EPR regulations across multiple jurisdictions, focusing on waste streams such as packaging, electronics, and batteries, amongst others. In this position, youll leverage your strategic thinking, analytical skills, and stakeholder management abilities to develop innovative solutions, optimize compliance processes, and support Amazons goals while navigating complex regulatory landscapes.

Key job responsibilities

  • Lead the implementation of product classification requirements for EPR compliance, ensuring accurate categorization across diverse product ranges and multiple jurisdictions
  • Manage the change request process for classification updates, ensuring timely incorporation of regulatory changes and internal stakeholder feedback while maintaining system integrity
  • Orchestrate the development and launch of classification rules and algorithms, collaborating with data science and machine learning teams to enhance automation and accuracy
  • Establish and maintain robust monitoring systems to evaluate the performance of classification algorithms, identifying areas for improvement and implementing data-driven optimizations
  • Partner with operations, science and engineering teams to drive continuous improvements in classification processes, focusing on scalability, efficiency, and integration with broader EPR compliance workflows

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree or equivalent
  • Experience in compliance program management, legal, governance, audit, risk/loss prevention, or equivalent
  • Experience handling confidential information
  • 3+ years of program or project management experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Professional auditing qualification, or similar risk or compliance credentials
  • Experience with SQL and Excel
  • Experience in program requirements definition, together with data and metrics leveraging to drive improvements
