About the Role

The Relationship Manager – Business Banking is responsible for delivering tailored financial solutions to meet the working capital and banking needs of business banking clients. This role focuses on acquiring new-to-bank (NTB) asset clients while deepening relationships across liabilities and foreign exchange (FX) products. The role holder will ensure best-in-class relationship management and customer experience, positioning the bank as the preferred financial partner. Collaboration with product and operations teams is essential to drive effective customer acquisition, servicing, and portfolio growth.

Key Responsibilities

Primary Responsibilities

  • Acquire new business banking customers with a strong understanding of credit assessment and financial solutions.
  • Manage client relationships across liabilities, Forex, trade finance, and asset products.
  • Monitor and maintain portfolio hygiene through timely renewals, enhancements, and retention strategies.
  • Minimize open deferrals and covenant breaches to ensure portfolio quality.
  • Collaborate with branch banking teams to leverage synergies and optimize cross-functional opportunities.
  • Conduct competitor analysis and gather feedback from channels and customers to refine growth strategies.
  • Recommend process improvements to enhance service efficiency and customer experience across the branch network.

Secondary Responsibilities

  • Support marketing initiatives and sales planning to drive business growth.
  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of financial statements, credit assessment, and title/security documentation.
  • Promote high-quality customer service and operational excellence through continuous engagement and feedback.

What We Are Looking For

Education

  • Graduate in any discipline.
  • Professional qualification such as Chartered Accountant (Preferred)

Experience

  • 5 to 10 years of relevant experience in branch banking or business banking.

Skills and Attributes

  • Strong analytical skills with expertise in credit assessment and financial documentation.
  • Proven ability to manage and grow business banking portfolios.
  • Excellent relationship management and customer service skills.
  • Knowledge of liabilities, Forex, trade finance, and asset products.
  • Strategic thinking with the ability to evaluate market trends and competitor strategies.
  • Effective collaboration and communication across teams and stakeholders.
  • High level of integrity and commitment to compliance.
  • Fluent in English with strong business communication skills.
