Role description

As a Regional Buyer you will be part of a diverse team of professional purchasers, located at multiple sites, contributing to providing optimized and sustainable logistics solutions for the Volvo Group. You will support our activities for all logistics processes, ensure implementation of global sourcing strategies and projects, systems, and processes, and drive operational efficiency at a regional level.

Main activities and responsibilities

As a Regional Buyer, you will lead and manage assigned tenders, including the analysis and evaluation of RFIs and RFQs, supplier meetings, negotiations, and contractual preparations prior to service implementation. You will identify potential new suppliers and develop innovative logistics solutions.

You will conduct supplier evaluations and ensure full compliance with Volvo purchasing guidelines. Additionally, you will drive continuous improvements and contract management across multiple segments throughout the contract lifecycle, as well as lead sustainability, transformation, and process development initiatives.

Other parts of the role

  • Ensure, promote, and monitor adherence to required ethical standards and integrity.
  • Gather regional business intelligence and share insights on cost developments and trends within the logistics sector.
  • Actively contribute to the development and implementation of global sourcing strategies in close collaboration with segment networks.
  • Ensure close collaboration with operations and end users of contracted services within your area of responsibility.
  • Serve as the commercial point of contact for assigned logistics service providers and contribute to the development and optimization of their services.

We need you who are eager to become the commercial supplier interface, to improve the total efficiency with an end-to-end perspective. You are challenging but fair in supplier interactions, having the capability of building the relationship that makes business partners want to excel in sustainability, quality, service, and cost efficiency. You are eager to support and drive a diverse range of sourcing and improvement activities and you are intrigued by exploring new areas of expertise and manage ambiguity and new interfaces to a very high extent. Digitalization and process automation is something you are interested in, and you actively take part in the digitalization journey that we have entered in Logistics Purchasing.

We believe that you are a skilled communicator, who manages stakeholders in a cross functional and multi-cultural environment with ease.

You find energy in making a difference and have a positive “can do” attitude. You make people feel included. Experience from several logistics commodities / segments is an advantage.

Required Knowledge And Experience

  • University degree and/or Masters
  • Show a real talent for cultural integration
  • Proficiency in the English language is required
  • You have at least 5-8 years of relevant work experience within Supply Chain, Logistics and/or purchasing
  • You have strong analytical skills with a holistic perspective and eye for details
  • You are skilled in Office 365 environment and preferably have worked with SAP and Power BI or similar and are quick to learn to use new IT tools

Location : Preferred location is Hoskote, Bangalore in India. Other locations, Korea and China could be considered.
