Role Overview

BDD Cucumber with Java & Selenium:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior BDD Automation Engineer with a strong background in Java, Selenium, and Cucumber to join our team. In this role, you will be instrumental in designing, developing, and maintaining robust automated test suites using Behaviour-Driven Development (BDD) principles. Your expertise will ensure the quality and reliability of our applications, contributing to a seamless user experience.

Responsibilities

• BDD Automation Framework Development:
• Design and maintain comprehensive BDD automation frameworks using Java, Selenium, and Cucumber.
• Implement and enforce BDD best practices, ensuring clear and maintainable test scenarios.
• Develop reusable test components and libraries to improve efficiency and scalability.
• Test Script Development and Execution:
• Write and execute automated test scripts based on manual test cases/user stories and acceptance criteria.
• Perform thorough regression testing to identify and resolve defects.
• Integrate automated tests into the CI/CD pipeline for continuous testing using Jenkins.
• Collaboration and Communication:
• Collaborate closely with developers, SMEs, scrum masters and QA engineers to define test strategies and requirements.
• Participate in sprint planning, sprint review, sprint retrospectives, and daily stand-up meetings.
• Communicate test results and identify areas for improvement.
• Work with Business Analysts, QA Leads and engineers to refine Gherkin Scenarios.
• Troubleshooting and Debugging:
• Analyse test failures and identify root causes.
• Debug and resolve complex automation issues.
• Provide detailed reports on test results and defect tracking.
• Continuous Improvement:
• Stay up-to-date with the latest automation tools and technologies.
• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance test efficiency and effectiveness.
• Mentor junior automation engineers, manual QA engineers and share best practices.
  
  

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• Minimum of 4 to 5 years of experience in BDD automation using Java, Selenium, and Cucumber.
• Strong programming skills in Java.
• Proficiency in developing and maintaining Selenium WebDriver automation frameworks.
• Experience with Cucumber for BDD test automation.
• Solid understanding of software testing principles and methodologies.
• Experience with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps).
• Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git).
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Experience or Knowledge with API testing.
• Experience with database testing.
