Product Engineer Automotive Diagnostics M W D

Intro

In this role you will work as a Field Application Engineer for tools for Automotive Diagnostics development, after sales and service development tools. You´ll be the expert for automotive diagnostics topics arising from our customer base in India. You will support our customers in tool usage questions for creating / modifying diagnostic databases (CDD/ODX/PDX) and in answering general questions on diagnostic protocol usage in Vector tools and – to some extent, both in-house and also on-site at customers. You will have to interact with customers in India along with our teams in Bengaluru, Pune and our German headquarters.

Your Tasks

• Respond to our customers´ queries on technical issues of varying complexity in conjunction with ECU and Vehicle diagnostics – onboard and off-board systems in general and diagnostic protocols and standards viz., UDS, SOVD, DOIP, OBD, ODX and the associated Vector products and solutions
• Assist customers via telephone/mail/web conferencing or onsite at Customer location as part of the installation and usage of Vector solutions
• Implementation of “proof-of-concepts” i.e., prototypical ECU test systems for key customers including diagnostics protocol, concepts and functional tests related to current tools
• Resolve any issues and problems faced by customers and deal with complaints to maintain trust
  
  

Your Profile

• Education: UG or PG - B.Tech/B.E./M.Tech - Computers, Electronics/Telecommunication from reputed institute with Minimum 60%
• Experience range between 5-8 yrs, with at least 3yrs in relevant field (Automotive After sales and service Diagnostics, development and protocols)
• Must have 5+ years of any automobile diagnostic development and testing using diagnostic tool chain for specification of aftersales and service diagnostics
• In-depth knowledge of vehicle systems (engine, transmission, electrical, HVAC, ADAS, etc.)
• Proficiency with OEM and aftermarket diagnostics and software (e.g., OTX, ODX Studio, CANalyzer), guided diagnostics
• Solid understanding of automotive communication protocols (CAN, UDS, J1939, DoIP, etc.)
• Experience with different protocols on different networks like UDS, OBD on UDS (SAE J179-2), KWP2000, OBD, DOIP, SOVD
• Must be a good team player and have excellent communication skills
• Structured, analytical approach to work
• Self-driven work style & creativity
• Travel (mainly within India) is expected to meet and work with customers for PoC, demonstration and any deep technical support required
• Good user knowledge MS Office (Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel)
