Principal Product Manager

We are seeking a Principal Product Manager to lead the Endpoint Security Subsystem / Platform for cross-platform environments, including Linux and mobile endpoints. This team builds foundational capabilities and signals that internal partner teams consume to deliver enterprise-grade endpoint and workload protection across cloud, hybrid, and on-prem environments.

This role operates at the intersection of platform strategy, partner enablement, and enterprise grade protection delivery, tackling ambiguous, high-impact problem spaces across endpoint, server, and workload security. As a Principal PM, you will shape long-term platform vision, influence Director- and VP-level stakeholders, and ensure the subsystem is always healthy, continuously updated, reliable, and safe for enterprise workloads.

Responsibilities

Platform & Subsystem Strategy

• Own the multi-year vision and roadmap for the Endpoint Security Subsystem powering cross-platform protection (Linux, mobile).
• Define and enforce platform contracts and guardrails to balance partner velocity, standardization, and long-term health.
• Drive clarity in highly ambiguous problem spaces by framing problems, defining success metrics, and making principled tradeoffs
  
  

Partner Enablement & Adoption

• Treat partner teams as first-class customers, deeply understanding their constraints and success criteria.
• Drive adoption and trust, reducing custom agents, duplicated logic, and platform bypass.
  
  

Customer, Threat & Market Insight

• Develop a deep understanding of cross-platform endpoint customer personas, including Linux-first environments, mobile workforces, and regulated enterprises
• Partner with Security Research, Threat Intelligence, and Red Teams to translate real-world attack techniques into actionable product requirements
• Track competitive offerings and evolving threat landscapes across endpoint and mobile platforms
• Engage directly with customers, partners, and field teams to validate direction, measure impact, and refine strategy
  
  

Execution & Cross-Group Leadership

• Lead execution across multiple engineering teams to deliver secure, reliable, and performant endpoint security capabilities
• Partner closely with Engineering, Security Research, Cloud, CxE, UX, Marketing, and Field teams to ensure end-to-end customer success
• Drive alignment across complex dependencies and resolve conflicts through influence rather than authority
• Ensure solutions meet Microsoft’s standards for security, privacy, reliability, performance, and compliance
  
  

Product Excellence & Organizational Impact

• Set a high bar for product management craft, technical depth, and customer obsession
• Mentor Senior PMs and PMs, acting as a multiplier for product quality and decision-making across the organization
• Contribute to org-wide initiatives including roadmap reviews, investment planning, and quality and reliability improvements
• Represent product strategy in senior leadership forums, influencing priorities, investment decisions, and resourcing
  
  

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

• 10+ years of product management experience, including ownership of complex, platform-scale products
• Proven ability to define and execute long-term strategy in highly ambiguous, high-impact problem spaces
• Strong technical aptitude and experience partnering deeply with engineering teams
• Demonstrated success driving outcomes through cross-org influence at scale
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including executive-level storytelling
  
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience building security products, familiarity with Linux platforms, mobile operating systems, or cross-platform endpoint architectures
• Background in cloud, security, data, or developer platforms
• Experience working with global enterprise customers and field organizations
• History of mentoring PMs or shaping product management best practices
• MBA or advanced technical degree (not required)
