Principal BIM Modeler - Mechanical Water

We are now recruiting talented individuals to fill our current vacancy for Associate Principal BIM Modeler/ Principal BIM Modeler to work on our projects in Bangalore/Noida/Hyderabad

As a Principal BIM Modeler – MEP, you will lead the BIM team in the coordination and delivery of advanced BIM (ACC) solutions for Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing (MEP) systems and HVAC. Using Autodesk Revit and cutting-edge BIM technologies, your expertise will support multi-disciplinary international projects, with a focus on Water Treatment Plants (WTP) and Wastewater Treatment Plants (WWTP) for the US Water sector. You will drive technical excellence, mentor team members, and uphold Arcadis’ standards in every phase of project delivery.

Role accountabilities:

BIM Production & Coordination:

Develop, verify, and manage detailed BIM models for MEP disciplines (HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, electrical) using Revit MEP for large-scale WTP and WWTP projects.

• Quality Assurance: Ensure compliance with technical standards, client requirements, ISO 19650, and Arcadis ANA Standards.
• Team Leadership: Mentor and guide junior BIM modelers; promote quality control and interdisciplinary collaboration.
• Cross-functional Collaboration: Liaise with global Arcadis teams, BIM Managers, and design professionals to solve technical challenges and strengthen professional relationships.
• Process & Content Management: Develop and implement BIM Execution Plans (BEP), workflows, ANA Standard content catalogues, and MEP content libraries.
• Documentation & Model Review: Prepare, coordinate, and review discipline-specific BIM content and 2D/3D models/drawings from concept to construction using ACC.
• Software Utilization: Employ BIM tools (Revit MEP, BIM 360/ACC, Navisworks, AutoCAD, MicroStation) for efficient model management and documentation.
• Health & Safety Integration: Embed design health and safety management throughout the project lifecycle.
• Continuous Improvement: Stay abreast of industry innovations, ISO 19650 standards, and best practices in mechanical and HVAC design.
  
  

Required Competencies

• In-depth technical expertise in mechanical/HVAC systems design and BIM modeling.
• Strong understanding of US codes, standards, and drawing practices for MEP projects.
• Advanced proficiency in Autodesk Revit MEP, BIM 360/ACC, Navisworks, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office.
• Demonstrated experience in leading BIM activities for complex, multi-disciplinary, international projects.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and team leadership skills.
• Flexible, adaptable, and able to thrive under pressure.
• Working knowledge of ISO 19650 and BIM management systems.
  
  

Qualifications & Experience

• Education:
• Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, BE Mechanical, or BTech Mechanical.
• Specialization or certification in HVAC is highly desirable.
• Experience:
• 12+ years in CADD & BIM, with proven expertise in mechanical/HVAC systems.
• Significant experience delivering BIM models and drawings for major water sector projects (WTP, WWTP, utilities, MEP).
• Preferred background in US/Canadian water industry and/or HVAC project delivery.
• Software Skills:
• Proficiency in Autodesk Revit MEP (essential), BIM 360/ACC, Navisworks Manage, AutoCAD, MicroStation.
• Ability to manage interoperability between multiple software platforms.
• Skilled in producing discipline-specific BIM models and 2D/3D drawings.
• Prepare 3D MEP Model in Revit for Modeling for Mechanical, HVAC, Plumbing, and Fire components for projects related to Water Supply and Wastewater Treatment (Sewerage), Water and Wastewater (Sewage) Pumping Stations, Water Wastewater Treatment Plants.
• Preparation of 2D Sheets from the Revit model as per client standards
• Creating 2D Sheets in Autocad
• Working independently as well as with a team
• A strong, self-motivated, and assertive person capable of working under pressure.
• Liaison with lead business and other team members for preparation of design drawings.
• Good communication skills both verbal and written.
• Working in collaboration with other design disciplines.
• Compliance of Arcadis business management system
• Compliance to Health and Safety standards
