About The Role

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Payroll Executive with a strong commerce/finance background to take complete ownership of payroll operations in a fast-paced startup environment. This role is critical in ensuring that every employee is paid accurately, on time, and in full compliance with statutory requirements. You will act as the bridge between HR, Finance, and Compliance, playing a key role in building reliable payroll processes that scale with the company’s growth.

Key Responsibilities

Payroll Management

  • Own and execute end-to-end payroll for all employees with 100% accuracy and timeliness.
  • Manage salary structuring, increments, arrears, variable pay, reimbursements, and exit settlements.
  • Prepare payslips, payroll reconciliations, and MIS reports for management.

Compliance & Reporting

  • Ensure strict adherence to PF, ESI, PT, LWF, TDS, and Shops & Establishments Act.
  • File statutory returns (Form 24Q, Form 16, etc.) within deadlines.
  • Stay updated on payroll taxation and labor law changes, ensuring zero compliance gaps.
  • Provide payroll data for internal and external audits.

Employee Support & Coordination

  • Address employee payroll queries with confidentiality and professionalism.
  • Collaborate with HR on attendance, leave management, and onboarding documentation.
  • Work closely with Finance for payroll funding, reconciliations, and compliance reporting.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in commerce/finance (M.Com/MBA Finance preferred).
  • 3–6 years of proven experience in payroll processing and statutory compliance.
  • In-depth knowledge of payroll taxation, salary structuring, and Indian labor laws.
  • Strong command of MS Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, Reconciliations).
  • Hands-on experience with HRMS/Payroll platforms (Keka, GreytHR, Zoho Payroll, or similar).
  • High integrity, accuracy, and ability to deliver under strict timelines.
