We’re in an unbelievably exciting area of tech and are fundamentally reshaping the data storage industry. Here, you lead with innovative thinking, grow along with us, and join the smartest team in the industry.
This type of work—work that changes the world—is what the tech industry was founded on. So, if youre ready to seize the endless opportunities and leave your mark, come join us.
THE ROLE
As a Senior Staff Quality Engineer, you will be the final guardian of stability and performance for Pure’s flagship FlashArray products. You will move beyond functional testing to own the System Testing strategy, designing multi-week, production-scale "torture tests" that mirror the world’s most demanding customer environments. This is a high-impact, architectural role where your insights into resiliency, longevity, and failover behavior will directly influence release decisions and ensure Pure remains a leader in storage reliability.
What Youll Do
- Architect System Testing Strategy: Define the end-to-end strategy for major releases, moving past feature correctness to validate stability, longevity, and resiliency under sustained, high-pressure production workloads.
- Design High-Fidelity Scenarios: Build complex, realistic test beds that combine mixed workloads (block, file, object) with fault injections, non-disruptive upgrades (NDUs), and hardware failovers to surface rare race conditions and memory leaks.
- Drive Execution & Triage: Own the health and instrumentation of massive System Testing environments; lead high-speed triage of complex failures, bridging the gap between infrastructure noise and critical product bugs.
- Serve as a Release Gatekeeper: Act as the primary technical voice for Release Candidate sign-off, defining entry/exit criteria and providing data-driven "go/no-go" recommendations based on multi-day soak results.
- Advance Platform Observability: Partner with automation teams to build intelligent dashboards, workload drivers, and automated log-triage helpers that make system-level issues obvious and actionable.
What You Bring
- Expert-Level Experience: 15+ years in System Testing, Reliability, or Performance Engineering for complex distributed systems, with a proven track record of finding "the needle in the haystack" within large-scale storage environments.
- Deep Storage Domain Mastery: Advanced understanding of high-availability (HA) architectures, replication, snapshots, and system behavior under sustained load across block and file protocols.
- Technical Debugging Prowess: Exceptional skills in performing forensics across Linux hosts, networks, and storage logs to root-cause failures in environments involving VMware, Windows, or Kubernetes.
- Strategic Technical Leadership: Demonstrated ability to mentor junior/mid-level engineers and influence cross-functional stakeholders (Dev, PM, and Support) on release risk and quality standards.
- Automation-First Philosophy: Strong proficiency in Python or Shell for extending automation frameworks and integrating long-running validation into CI/CD pipelines.
- We are primarily an in-office environment and therefore, you will be expected to work from the Bengaluru office in compliance with Pure’s policies, unless you are on PTO, or work travel, or other approved leave.
