About the job

We are looking for a Member of Technical Staff – SRE / Release Engineer to join our Engineering/DevOps team in Bangalore. This role reports to the Engineering Manager and is critical for ensuring high availability and stability of production releases in our C and Python codebase.

You will be responsible for building and owning the release process, automating the CI/CD pipeline, and ensuring every production deployment is validated, reliable, and coordinated across teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Own and manage the end-to-end biweekly release cycle across multiple services.
• Build and maintain automated CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or GitLab CI.
• Implement and enforce Git best practices, branching strategies, tagging, and versioning.
• Integrate and enforce automated test coverage (unit, integration, regression) pre-release.
• Develop pre-release validation scripts to ensure backward compatibility and build integrity.
• Design and maintain deployment strategies like blue/green, rolling, and canary deployments.
• Work closely with SRE and monitoring teams to enable effective rollback and alerting.
• Collaborate with developers, QA, and product teams to coordinate releases and feature readiness.
  
  

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in SRE, DevOps, or Release Engineering.
• Expertise in CI/CD tools (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, GitLab).
• Strong scripting skills in Python, Bash, or similar.
• Solid knowledge of Git workflows, submodules, tagging, and rebase/merge strategies.
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Ansible, or Terraform.
• Familiar with observability and incident management tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, Sentry).
  
  

• Experience in release coordination for networking or telecom platforms.
• Familiarity with build systems like Make, CMake, or Bazel.
• Knowledge of artifact repositories (Artifactory, Nexus).
• Proven ability to manage production releases for Linux-based deployments with uptime guarantees.
