For our R&D Drivetrain team we are looking for a dedicated Mechanical Engineer. The Drivetrain team is the core of a turbine and includes Main shaft and Bearing arrangement, and the entire Gearbox assembly. As a Mechanical engineer, you will be a part of a dynamic and global team, with a strong focus on developing flawless solutions to different projects across platforms.
As a mechanical design engineer, you will be a part of a diverse project team from early concept stage up until final validation of a product. It encompasses cost and design benchmarks studies, technology and feasibility studies, alignment with many different stakeholders, support to production, validation campaigns among many other engineering tasks.
How You’ll Make An Impact
Developing mechanical components such as large cast components, forged structural components, Suspension systems, fixation mechanism (preload of bearings), subsystems (ladders and platforms, grease systems), Gearbox integration.
Explore innovative mechanical concepts and complete complex mechanical studies and designs.
Clarify design and interface requirements with all relevant stakeholders.
CAD design (advance surface modelling, large assemblies, collision check etc.) using NX and Teamcenter.
Perform rough calculations on main components using analytical methods for pre-dimension (detailed calculation under Structural team). Perform rough structural calculations on secondary structures.
Prepare Technical Documentation: 2D drawings with GPS (Geometrical Product Specification) that convey precise design and manufacturing instruction.
Prepare project deliverables such as: DFMEA, DRA (design risk assessment), CRS (component replacement strategy) among others.
Prepares Specifications (ZPS) Purchasing Spec and Test requirements.
Execute Design Reviews with stakeholders and balance important requirements.
Release of Engineering BoM.
Participate in prototype- & pre-series assembly in workshop and implement lessons learned. Support production ramp up of the first units before series with physical attendance at the production plant.
What You Bring
Bachelor’s or master’s degree: Mechanical Engineering, or similar Industrial Engineering.
Minimum experience: 5 years in Product development and Mechanical Design.
Knowledge and experience in Structural Calculations will be an advantage.
Knowledge of GPS Geometrical Product Specification is a must.
Experience with NX Siemens PLM & Teamcenter Siemens PLM
Experience with Machinery directive 2006/42/EC will be an advantage.
Self-initiative, pro-active and problem solver that work independently and in teams.
Communication skills in English (orally and writing). High level.
