About The Position
Chevron ENGINE has an exciting opportunity for a Marine CMMS Specialist to join the Subsea, Civil and Marine Engineering team. Reporting to the Manager, this role will be based in Chevron’s office in Bengaluru.
Chevron Shipping: Chevron Shipping Company (CSC), a business unit within Chevron Corporation, is a world-class marine services company and a global leader in safety, reliability, and sustainability. CSC provides maritime expertise and is responsible for the transportation of crude oil, refined products and liquefied natural gas (LNG) through a fleet of owned, operated, and leased vessels. CSC operates globally with a regional team of technical operations experts based in San Ramon CA, Houston TX, and Singapore.
Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS)
CMMS is a software platform designed to centralize and manage all maintenance-related activities within the organization. At its core, CMMS maintains a database of assets (hierarchy), work orders, inventory, and procurement, enabling teams to:
- Plan and schedule preventive maintenance (time based or running hours based)
- Track work orders from initiation to completion
- Manage spare parts, inventory, and procurement to avoid downtime
- Store asset maintenance history
- Generate reports and KPIs for reliability and compliance Chevron Shipping is currently using IBM Maximo version 7.6.1.3 across all vessels and shoreside organization. A project is in progress to complete transition from IBM Maximo to MariApps smartPAL by the end of October 2026.
Chevron ENGINE supports global operations, and work hours are aligned to business needs. Standard working hours are 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM or 1:30 PM to 10:30 PM, Monday to Friday. These may evolve based on operational or business requirements.
Key Responsibilities
The primary responsibility of this role is to directly support CSC’s CMMS system and be a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the CMMS system, for CSC’s operated fleet and shoreside teams. The CMMS specialist participates in efforts to maximize effectiveness and extract value from CSC’s use of a CMMS tool. The CMMS specialist will provide help to a wide variety of Shipping functions such as Procurement, Finance, Oil and Gas fleet Superintendents, Vessel Management Team (Senior officers onboard CSC operated vessels), Inventory team, and Maintenance teams. The CMMS Specialist also provides consulting to business process owners within Shipping to align processes to system capabilities. The role includes delivering user training programs for the CMMS system, developing reports, and data cleaning, loading, and validating activities. Additionally, this role will help with business process mapping, optimization, and analytics to assure continual growth and improvement of the system. This role reports to the Chevron Shipping Fleet Technical Asset Integrity Manager. The applicant should have at least 1+ years of maritime experience to be familiar with vessel equipment and operations. The applicant will need to understand relational databases and be proficient with a querying language such as SQL. Project management skills, data handling/processing skills, verbal/written communication, and presentation skills are keys to success for this role. The applicant should be self-motivated and be able to thrive in a diverse and collaborative team environment.

Required Qualifications
To be considered for this role, applicants should have:
- Minimum 1 year experience with Marine CMMS management
- Fluent in SQL and relational databases
- Strong computer skills, especially with Excel and Power BI
- Ability to analyse and organize data into usable information
- Ability to understand business needs, formulate alternatives, and develop recommendations
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to work independently or with diverse teams
Preferred Qualifications
1+ years of seagoing experience as a marine engineering officer
