As a Lead Software Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within the Commercial and Investment Banking - Payments team, you will play a crucial role in an agile team dedicated to enhancing, building, and delivering trusted, market-leading technology products that are secure, stable, and scalable.
Job Responsibilities
Executes creative software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems
Develops secure high-quality production code, and reviews and debugs code written by others
Identifies opportunities to eliminate or automate remediation of recurring issues to improve overall operational stability of software applications and systems
Leads evaluation sessions with external vendors, startups, and internal teams to drive outcomes-oriented probing of architectural designs, technical credentials, and applicability for use within existing systems and information architecture
Leads communities of practice across Software Engineering to drive awareness and use of new and leading-edge technologies
Adds to team culture of diversity, opportunity, inclusion, and respect
Required Qualifications, Capabilities, And Skills
Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience
Develop and maintain web applications using React for the front-end and Java Spring Boot for the back-end along with working knowledge in Kotlin.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features.
Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code following best practices.
Build RESTful APIs and integrate them with front-end components.
Optimize applications for maximum speed and scalability.
Debug and resolve technical issues across the stack.
Participate in code reviews to ensure code quality and consistency.
Work with databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, or MongoDB.
Implement security and data protection measures.
Stay updated with emerging technologies and frameworks.
Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, And Skills
Proficiency in React.js, including state management libraries like Redux or Context API.
Strong experience with Java, Spring Boot, and building RESTful APIs.
Knowledge of front-end technologies such as HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript (ES6+).
Familiarity with version control systems like Git.
Experience with relational and non-relational databases.
Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and tools like Jenkins, Docker, or Kubernetes.
Knowledge of cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud is a plus.
