About The Role

We are looking for an experienced Senior Java Backend Developer with strong expertise in building scalable, high-performance backend systems. The ideal candidate must have hands-on experience in Java 8+, Spring Boot, Microservices, and strong proficiency in TDD/Unit Testing frameworks. Experience with BDD (Cucumber) is highly desirable. As part of the selection process, shortlisted candidates will be given a backend coding assessment and evaluated based on their technical design, coding standards, and testing approach.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain backend services using Java 8+ and Spring Boot (3.x).
• Build RESTful APIs using microservices architecture principles.
• Apply TDD (JUnit, Mockito, Mock frameworks) and BDD (Cucumber) practices to deliver high-quality, testable code.
• Work with in-memory databases such as H2 for rapid prototyping.
• Implement clean, maintainable, and scalable code following SOLID principles and industry best practices.
• Participate in design discussions, code reviews, and architectural improvements.
• Troubleshoot production issues and propose robust solutions.
• Document APIs using Swagger/OpenAPI or similar tools.
  
  

• Java 8+ – Advanced proficiency in core Java features.
• Spring Framework & Spring Boot – Deep understanding of dependency injection, REST controllers, validations, exception handling, and configuration.
• RESTful Services & Microservices Architecture.
• TDD – Strong hands-on experience with JUnit, Mockito, Mock frameworks.
• Unit Testing & Code Coverage Tools.
• Experience with Git, branching strategies, and CI/CD pipelines.
  
  

• BDD (Cucumber) – Writing feature files & step definitions.
• Experience with in-memory databases (H2) or other relational databases.
• Swagger/OpenAPI documentation.
• Basic understanding of Docker/Kubernetes.
