Role brief:

The Inventory Control specialist is responsible for managing and maintaining accurate inventory records to ensure smooth and efficient operations. This role involves close collaboration with the purchasing and production teams to receive, inspect, store, and issue materials as per business requirements. The individual will oversee stock movements, monitor purchase orders, and prepare regular inventory reports to maintain transparency and accuracy. Additionally, the role includes conducting periodic cycle counts, ensuring organized and safe storage practices, and supporting the team with day-to-day inventory-related tasks to enable uninterrupted operational flow.


Roles and Responsibilities:


1. Inventory Coordination and Management:

  • Coordinate with the purchasing team to raise purchase orders (POs) and receive physical stock in alignment with approved purchase orders.
  • Accurately count, inspect, and record incoming inventory, identifying and documenting any discrepancies or defects.
  • .Ensure proper storage of materials in designated locations to maintain safety, organization, and easy accessibility.


2. Stock Movement and Reporting:

  • Issue materials against approved sales orders and ensure all transactions are accurately recorded in the inventory management system.
  • Track purchase orders, monitor supply chain movements, and support uninterrupted production operations.
  • Prepare and maintain regular inward and outward inventory reports, ensuring accuracy and transparency.


3. Cycle counting:

  • Conduct periodic inventory cycle counts to ensure records remain accurate and up to date.
  • Maintain clean, organized, and safe workspaces, including storage and inventory locations.


4. General responsibilies:

  • Assist with additional tasks and responsibilities as assigned to support smooth and efficient inventory operations.


SKILLS AND EXPERTISE:

  • Strong understanding of inventory management, stock control, and material handling processes.
  • Ability to accurately inspect, count, and record inventory, ensuring data accuracy.
  • Experience with purchase orders, stock issuance, and inventory tracking systems / ERP tools.
  • Attention to detail in maintaining inward and outward inventory records and reports.
  • Good coordination and communication skills to work with purchasing, production, and sales team.
  • Strong organizational skills to maintain safe, clean, and well-structured storage areas.
