Buro Happold is seeking a Graphic Designer with skills in data visualization and design craft fundamentals to join our Bangalore-based RIC team of business researchers and strategy analysts. This role sits at the intersection of business research, advisory, and visual communication, with a focus on converting analytical and qualitative information into clear, decision-ready visual outputs.
The ideal candidate is a graphic or information design professional who has grown into a visual strategist within business research and advisory environments. This fast-paced, deadline-driven role requires exceptional creativity, technical expertise, and the ability to collaborate effectively with global teams and clients. The Graphic Designer-Data Visualisation will create compelling, high-quality visual content that communicates insights and strategies with clarity and impact, while ensuring alignment with the firm’s global brand standards and client expectations.
The incumbent will bring a graphic or information design academic background together with professional experience in business advisory, management consulting, or outsourced business research and strategy services supporting global professional services firms. Experience in offshored or shared services units of consulting firms (e.g., strategy and deals teams, global capability centres) or third-party knowledge partners is desirable.

Your next role:
1 . Visualization and Storytelling
- Design and develop visual frameworks, dashboards, infographics, and conceptual diagrams that synthesize research, analysis, and strategic thinking, applying information architecture and design thinking to ensure clarity, visual hierarchy, and logical flow in all deliverables.
- Build client-ready deliverables that are a cross between reading documents and stand-up presentations, using inputs provided by teams of business and strategy researchers and analysts. These deliverables include storyboards and visual narratives that help business advisory consultants communicate recommendations and scenarios with impact.
- Transform quantitative datasets, qualitative information, narrative, and exposition covering analysis of markets, sectors, industries, competitors, and economies, and benchmarking, custom analytical business frameworks, scorecards, selection tools, etc., into structured and intuitive charts, tables, diagrams, maps, matrices, timelines, diagrammatic representations, etc., that simplify complex ideas, concepts, and trends into visually compelling, easy-to-assimilate formats on PPT, Word, Excel, and PDF.

Key Deliverables
- Executive-ready visual decks, dashboards, and frameworks that clarify complex business issues and recommendations.
- Visual representations of strategic roadmaps, operating models, organizational structures, and transformation journeys, etc.
- Standardized visual templates, toolkits, and style guides for business research and advisory teams.
- Enablement materials and sessions that build visualization literacy across research and advisory groups.
- Business Research and Advisory Enablement
- Collaborate with business research and advisory teams across geographies to embed visualization throughout the project lifecycle, from issue framing and hypothesis development to final client presentations.
- Support advisory client engagements through visual synthesis of market studies, benchmarking, organizational diagnostics, transformation programs, etc.
- Co-create client-ready decks and visual communication that articulate strategic options, roadmaps, operating models, etc.
- Develop reusable visual assets, templates, and design systems for business research and strategy teams.
- Design and Brand Stewardship
- Apply graphic design principles such as composition, color theory, typography, grid and layout to ensure that deliverables are precise and aesthetically strong.
- Maintain alignment with firm’s brand and visual identity guidelines across internal and external outputs.
- Evolve template libraries, iconography, and slide/page layouts that support consistent, high-quality visual communication.
- Ensure deliverables are optimised for digital and print consumption.
Your Key Duties
- Primary: Data & Information Visualization
- Proven ability to visually represent quantitative and qualitative data for business decision-making in advisory and strategy contexts.
- Extensive experience and expertise in using PPT, Word, PDF, and Excel for client deliverables.
- Strong skills in visual storytelling, conceptual modeling, and information design (frameworks, canvases, journeys, maps).
- Understanding of cognitive and perceptual principles that govern how audiences consume and interpret visual information.
- Ability to connect analytical logic, narrative flow, and visual form in a coherent story.
- Secondary: Graphic Design for Business Research & Advisory
- Proficiency with BI and visualization platforms such as Tableau, Power BI, Qlik, Flourish, or RAW Graphs preferred but not mandatory.
- Proficiency in graphic design tools such as Adobe Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, plus collaboration/layout tools such as Figma, Miro, or Lucid chart preferred but not mandatory.
- Exposure to AI-powered design tools used in business advisory, management consulting, and business research and strategy preferred but not mandatory.
- Grasp of visual identity, branding, typography, and digital composition for executive audiences.
- Familiarity with business advisory ways of working such as problem structuring, hypothesis-driven analysis, synthesis, and executive presentation standards.
- Ability to manage multiple requests in a fast-paced work environment with deadline pressures and deliver to tight timelines typical of advisory projects.
Your Skills And Experience
- 8 –12 + years of experience in one or more of the following:
- Business advisory or management consulting teams within global professional services firms (e.g., strategy, deals, sector or functional practices).
- Offshored / global capability centres (GCCs) or knowledge centres of such firms providing research, analytics, and strategy support.
- Third-party business research and strategy providers serving consulting and advisory clients, or similar entities.
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in graphic design, visual communication, information design, interaction design, or a closely related discipline.
- Preferred certifications in one or more of the following:
- Data visualization / BI tools (Tableau, Power BI, Qlik, etc.).
- Design thinking and innovation (e.g., IDEO, LUMA Institute, or equivalent programs).
- Business analytics, research methods, or visualization-focused analytics tools.
- Exposure to semiotics, qualitative data mapping, cognitive visualization, or communication design theory will be an added advantage.
- Demonstrated portfolio of work that showcases visualization of business content: research visualizations, strategic frameworks, dashboards, executive presentations, etc
- Experience of working in multi-disciplinary, global teams and interacting with consultants, researchers, and senior stakeholders.
