The Yoti app was designed with privacy at its core, giving people a secure way to prove their identity and share third-party credentials with organisations and other people.

Purpose of the Role:

Support regulatory and policy work by identifying and reviewing global legislation & technical codes and the enforcement stance of regulators that impact Yoti and its customers and producing plain-English summaries for non-legal internal audiences.

Help develop and refine an internal AI-driven legislative scanning tool by gathering primary and secondary legal and regulatory sources to support and maintain a living database of evolving regulation and policy summaries and the changing enforcement stance of regulators.

This will require curating global sources, validating outputs, and iterating the output of the tool for clarity, brevity and accuracy and integrating updates as legislation progresses and updates, case law, enforcement evolves. The database should support the work of Growth & Partnerships, Product, and other teams, principally to further Yoti’s growth objectives.


Role Dimensions: Reports to the Chief Regulatory & Policy Officer

The role focuses on global jurisdictional rules affecting:

  • (Primary focus) Age assurance & age-appropriate design (social media, dating, gaming, livestreaming, gambling, adult content, connected devices, retail, e-commerce).
  • (Secondary focus) Digital rights, online safety, biometric consent, data protection, parental consent rules - this may involve dark-pattern restrictions, data localisation, tiered access models, data processing and transparency.
  • Reviewing both primary and secondary legislation, across provinces, states and countries, globally.


Principal Responsibilities:

  • Build and maintain structured global regulatory sources of intelligence to feed into the AI scanning tool.
  • Review AI tool outputs against new regulations and updated texts to iterate and improve accuracy, clarity, and usability.
  • Ensure that the tool converts legal, technical, and software-engineering concepts into clear, actionable internal guidance for our team and ultimately our clients.
  • Collaborate with engineering leads and cross-functional teams to refine the tool.
  • Ongoing refinement of the tool to provide timely analysis and practical policy insights.


Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications and Experience:

  • Law degree, with 1-2 years commercial experience in a global environment, undertaking legal, policy, or regulatory research.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyse legal texts and produce clear, plain-English summaries.
  • Understanding of biometrics and ethical issues in emerging technologies.
  • Familiarity with AI research methods, software development or engineering workflows.
  • Strong communication skills, stakeholder management experience, and ability to operate in a fast-paced environment.
  • Awareness and enthusiasm for supporting new business acquisition.
  • Ability to engage senior stakeholders, manage competing demands, and communicate confidently across teams.


Interview Process:

  • Stage 1: Talent Acquisition Team Call (30 minutes)
  • Stage 2: Call with the hiring manager and senior team member ( 45 minutes)
  • Stage 3: Take home exercise
  • Stage 4: In-person interview with senior management
