Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Embedded Software Engineer with deep expertise in C++11 and Linux system programming to work on media and video streaming technologies. The ideal candidate will have experience developing firmware for hardware media pipelines, debugging complex system-level issues, and working with video/audio formats and streaming protocols. This role requires strong problem-solving abilities, excellent communication skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment. Exposure to DRM solutions and multimedia frameworks is a plus.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in computer science (or a related program) or equivalent work experience.

Highly proficient in C++11

Highly proficient in Linux system programming (IPC multi-processing, multi-threading, debugging/core dump analysis etc)

Good Debugging skills

Knowledge in the video streaming technologies (MPEG-DASH, HLS, Progressive Download, etc)

Knowledge on different audio/video formats (h264, H265, AV1, mp4, cmaf, ts, etc) and on tools to analyze them

Knowledge on SoC architecture.

Experience in developing firmware for hardware media pipeline

Good communication, problem solving skills and team player.

Highly Desirable

Digital Rights Management (Widevine, Playready, FairPlay) & Trusted Execution Environment.

Knowledge in multimedia frameworks like gstreamer, ffmpeg, etc

Experience in Web playback technologies (MSE & EME)

Job responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain embedded software for media pipelines on hardware platforms.

Work on Linux system programming involving IPC, multi-processing, multi-threading, and debugging techniques including core dump analysis.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate video streaming solutions such as MPEG-DASH, HLS, and progressive download.

Analyze and optimize video/audio formats including h264, h265, AV1, mp4, cmaf, ts, etc., using appropriate tools and frameworks.

Provide support for firmware development aligned with SoC architecture.

Identify and troubleshoot system issues, ensuring efficient performance and reliability.

Work with clients and internal teams to understand requirements and implement solutions that meet business and technical needs.

Maintain documentation, assist in testing, and ensure best practices in coding and software delivery.
