Reporting to the Engineering Manager, the Electronics Project Manager is responsible for leading and coordinating key electronics development projects, including the redesign of existing circuit boards for manufacturability, cost optimization, and serviceability, as well as managing redesigns to address component obsolescence. The Project Manager ensures projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
Responsibilities
The Electronics Project Manager is responsible for:
Planning, organizing, and managing electronics board redesign projects from initiation to completion
Driving design-for-manufacturability, design-for-cost, and design-for-service initiatives in collaboration with engineering and production teams
Leading efforts to redesign boards to overcome component obsolescence, including risk identification and mitigation
Supervising qualification and validation tests for redesigned boards
Coordinating with cross-functional teams (engineering, production, supply chain, quality, service) to ensure project objectives are met
Managing project risks (technical, logistical, scheduling) and define mitigation strategies
Ensuring adherence to deadlines, budgets, and quality standards
Participating in technical design reviews to improve manufacturability and maintainability
Identifying and implementing cost optimization levers (standardization, design-to-cost, process simplification)
Driving corrective action plans for non-conformities and quality issues
Promoting continuous improvement and Lean Manufacturing principles (5S, VSM, Kaizen)
Preparing and maintaining project documentation, including control plans, SOPs, and support materials
Providing regular reports to management on project progress, risks, and decisions needed
Facilitating effective communication among project stakeholders
Requirements
Education & experience:
Bachelor’s degree (B.E./B.Tech) in Electronics/Electrical Engineering, Project Management, or related field; PMP or similar certification preferred
Minimum 5 years of experience managing technical projects in electronics or manufacturing environments
Proven track record in leading board redesign projects and managing component obsolescence
Experience with design-for-manufacturability, cost optimization, and serviceability
Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies
Professionnal knowledge & abilities:
Fluent in English
Strong project management and organizational skills
Technical understanding of electronics design and manufacturing processes
Analytical and problem-solving abilities
Effective communication and stakeholder management skills
Ability to work in multidisciplinary and multicultural teams
Proactive, rigorous, autonomous, and dynamic
