Job Description
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Duty Engineer to join our team in Grand Mercure Bangalore, India. As a Duty Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation and maintenance of our facilitys engineering systems, contributing to an exceptional guest experience and efficient operations.
Oversee and maintain all engineering and maintenance systems to ensure optimal performance
Conduct regular inspections of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems
Perform preventive maintenance on HVAC, elevators, lighting, and fire safety systems
Respond promptly and efficiently to guest and staff maintenance requests
Troubleshoot and repair minor electrical, plumbing, and mechanical issues
Supervise the maintenance team and coordinate with contractors when necessary
Maintain accurate records of maintenance schedules, equipment performance, and repairs
Ensure compliance with local safety regulations and building codes
Assist in implementing energy conservation efforts and sustainability initiatives
Report major breakdowns and recommend necessary upgrades or replacements
Collaborate with other departments to maintain a safe and comfortable environment for guests and staff
Participate in budget planning for maintenance and repairs
Develop and implement preventive maintenance programmes
Conduct safety training for staff on equipment operation and emergency procedures
Manage inventory of maintenance supplies and equipment
Collaborate with procurement team to source high-quality materials and tools
Qualifications
Diploma or Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or related field)
Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in hotel or facility maintenance
In-depth knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and fire safety systems
Strong ability to troubleshoot and handle emergency repairs efficiently
Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills
Effective communication and teamwork abilities
Flexibility to work in shifts, including weekends and holidays
Familiarity with building management systems and maintenance management software
Knowledge of local building codes and safety regulations in Mumbai
Ability to work well under pressure and manage multiple priorities
Customer-focused mindset with a commitment to providing exceptional service
Proficiency in English; knowledge of Hindi or Marathi is a plus
