Grand Mercure Bangalore offers 126 suite style rooms with in-built kitchenettes. Our rooms offer the privacy you want but with the luxury and indulgence of a hotel. These suites are modern, tasteful and relaxing, suiting purposes of both leisure as well as business. Bright and spacious, they also include flat screen televisions, DVD players, music systems, Wi-Fi and 24 hour room service.

Grand Mercure is known for its passion for food and wine. Dining is always a culinary experience with ‘The Verandah’, our Global Cuisine restaurant and ‘By The Blue’, our poolside RestoBar which offers inspired Indian cuisine.

Job Description

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Stock up the assigned kitchen with raw materials and ingredients daily.
  • Master basic cooking methods, including ingredient preparation and daily mis-en-place for the assigned station.
  • Prepare food items as per standard recipe cards, maintaining portion control and minimising wastage.
  • Apply necessary precautions regarding food safety and hygiene standards (HACCP).
  • Clean and maintain all equipment within the food production area.
  • Cooperate with staff in each section as assigned by the Executive Chef.
  • Ensure the proper use of equipment and efficient completion of all tasks.
  • Maintain personal grooming and hygiene standards.
  • Adhere to all recipes, methods, and instructions from the Executive Chef.
  • Ensure that the preparation and presentation of food complies with company standards.
  • Coordinate operations with other departments to ensure operational readiness and efficient resource utilisation.
  • Handle additional responsibilities as delegated by the Management.

Qualifications

Requirements of Commis Chef:

  • A proven track record in a similar role within a quality environment
  • A positive approach, excellent organisational skills, and a passion for producing high quality food and customer care.
