Meet the Team

You will be part of Cisco’s Webex Platform Engineering team, responsible for building and scaling highly reliable, secure, and cloud-native infrastructure that powers collaboration experiences used globally. The team works at the intersection of cloud engineering, automation, and platform reliability, partnering closely with product, security, and engineering teams to deliver resilient services at scale.

Your Impact

As a Cloud Engineer, you will design, build, and operate scalable cloud infrastructure that supports Cisco’s next-generation collaboration platforms. This role offers the opportunity to work on complex cloud environments, influence architectural decisions, and drive automation and reliability across production systems.

You will play a key role in ensuring platform stability, performance, and security while continuously improving operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement cloud-based infrastructure solutions aligned with Cisco’s security standards and best practices
• Lead and contribute to cloud engineering initiatives with moderate complexity and risk
• Build and manage automation workflows for deployment, monitoring, testing, and incident management
• Collaborate with product managers, software engineers, and security teams to define infrastructure requirements and optimize system reliability
• Plan and support scaling strategies, capacity forecasting, and platform upgrades
• Drive continuous improvements in availability, performance, and stability of cloud services
• Track project milestones and communicate progress, risks, and remediation plans to cross-functional stakeholders
• Support live production environments with a strong focus on quality, risk mitigation, and security compliance
  
  

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with 7+ years of relevant experience, or Master’s degree with 4+ years of relevant experience
• Hands-on experience designing and operating cloud infrastructure in public and/or private cloud environments
• Strong experience with cloud engineering, automation, and infrastructure-as-code practices
• Proven experience managing production systems with a focus on reliability, performance, and security
• Experience working in Agile or fast-paced engineering environments
  
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with multiple cloud providers (AWS, Azure, GCP)
• Knowledge of cloud security standards, compliance, and access controls
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, continuous testing, and operational automation
• Strong stakeholder communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
• Ability to mentor junior engineers and contribute to technical best practices
