Chevron invites applications for the role of Senior Cloud Engineer within our Virtual Workspace team in India. This position has responsibility for the critical platforms, tools, and capabilities that provide on and off-premise Cloud infrastructure services to every Chevron business units and sites. This position will provide broad exposure to the application of technology to enable business with many opportunities for growth and professional development for the candidate. The expectation for this role is 5-10 years of relevant experience.
Job Description
Excellent knowledge of the AZURE AVD host pool & workspaces.
Experience in configuring and managing AVD session hosts in production.
Experience in Deploying and Managing Azure Virtual Desktops in the Microsoft Azure Production Environment.
Implement security policies, procedures, and technologies to ensure secure system access and control.
Security hardening of VDI infrastructure as per regulatory guidelines and industry best practices.
Efficient image management and centralized control.
Experience in configuring Azure Premium File Share and Azure NetApp files.
Experience in configuring and troubleshooting FSLogix.
Configuration & management of user-profiles and optimization of performance.
Experience in FSLogix profile management for AVD hosts on Azure files and NetApp.
Experience on Azure IaaS.
Experience with the Azure key vault.
Experience in configuring and managing Autoscale.
Experience with migrating and maintaining VDI workloads in Azure Cloud Production environment.
Good understanding of Azure Vnet, NSG, and firewall.
Hands on experience with network connectivity to Azure.
Good Understanding of PowerShell, ARM Templates, Bicep, and other IaaC
Collaborate with operational counterparts to support and provide client opportunities for improvement via automation, etc.
Experience in configuring and managing Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and Diagnostics settings.
Automate repetitive tasks where possible to improve service delivery and reduce operational overhead.
Maintain documentation related to VDI, virtual apps, & mobility activities/processes.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Strong experience in designing and implementing Azure Virtual Desktop solutions.
Expertise in Infrastructure as a code using Ansible / Terraform
Expertise in Azure services (Networking, Storage, Identity, Security).
Hands-on experience with FSLogix, Nerdio, Nexthink and Numecent Cloud Paging.
PowerShell scripting, and automation using CI & CD pipelines
Knowledge of Microsoft 365 integration and Teams optimization.
Familiarity with security best practices and compliance frameworks.
Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
Demonstrates the ability to effectively work in a team environment, can work across functions to verify requirements and align on business objectives.
Demonstrates influential leadership through ability in driving product design and architecture, and adherence to IT engineering standards and architecture maturity.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills and demonstrates the ability to effectively work asynchronously across time zones.
Strong track record of keeping up to date with industry trends. Experience with the growth of others’ capabilities.
Business Acumen:
Demonstrated experience supporting complex AVD Environments and support global user base
Demonstrated ability to quickly gain knowledge in business domains, data, workflows and processes in which the Virtual solutions are being deployed
Chevron ENGINE supports global operations, supporting business requirements across the world. Accordingly, the work hours for employees will be aligned to support business requirements. The standard work week will be Monday to Friday. Working hours are 8:00am to 5:00pm or 1.30pm to 10.30pm.
