- Bachelors degree in Engineering, Computer Science or in a related software engineering field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 3 years of experience architecting and implementing APIs in Apigee, using a combination of technologies, languages, and standards such as REST, SOAP, GraphQL, OpenAPI, Python, Java, JavaScript, and Kubernetes.
- Experience with API gateway/management, Apigee X and Apigee Hybrid.
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools like Terraform, Crossplane, Pulumi, etc.
Preferred qualifications:
- Experience in private, public (Cloud Platforms), and hybrid cloud design considerations and limitations in areas such as virtualization, containerization and container orchestration (like using Kubernetes), serverless, event-driven architecture, global infrastructure, distributed systems and datastores (like Cassandra), load balancing, networking, and security.
- Experience in implementing API Security and Threat Modelling using SAML Assertion, OAuth 2.0, etc.
- Understanding of terminologies and concepts related to AI, including LLMs, inference, and Agents.
- Knowledge of Multi/Hybrid Cloud exposure through Google Distributed Cloud (formerly known as Anthos), OpenShift, Rancher, or similar platforms.
- Knowledge of API Development and Lifecycle.

As a Strategic Cloud Engineer in the API Management domain, you will be the primary technical point of contact with the prospects and customers on their journey with Apigee. You will guide customers through product implementation and will serve as the customers’ primary source for expertise on all Apigee products and implementations to achieve customers’ project goals.

Responsibilities
- Work closely with customers during post-sales engagements on their API programs. Produce required design specifications.
- Provide technical leadership, architectural guidance, and help customers go into production with quality technical solutions/implementations with on-premises and multi/hybrid cloud-based Apigee solutions.
- Work with customers’ Operations teams to design, deploy, and configure required infrastructure components.
- Work with geographically distributed Apigee Product/Engineering and customer engineering teams to drive innovation and excellence in the field of API Management using Apigee.
