Job Description – Senior Mobile Tester
As Mobile Application Test Lead you will be accountable & responsible for Testing of Applications developed for Mobile devices against Requirements, meeting the Quality and Project Testing needs. You will work closely with Test Manager/ Lead for the projects under test.
Responsibilities
Testing of Mobile Applications developed for various Mobile devices on different platforms for Functional, Usability and Performance aspects
Understand the Requirements (Business & Technical) for the Application developed for a specific Mobile device and its Operating platform
Work closely with Mobile Solution Engineering team to understand the specifics of the Application, Mobile device & operating platform on which the Application would run and due considerations
Review Design and provide feedback considering Testability of the Application/ Solution
Derive a Test Strategy to Test the Application covering Functionality and aspects of Usability & Performance for the Mobile Device under test. Create a Test Plan for executing Testing aligned with Test Strategy
Perform Test Case design, identify any opportunity for Test Automation. Develop Test Cases both Manual and Automation Scripts as applicable.
Ensure Test readiness (Test Environment, Test Data, Tools Licenses etc)
Execute Testing, Monitor and report the Progress. Liaise with Mobile Solution Engineering Team & other relevant team for Defect resolution
Create Test Report and Test Sign off documentation as per Process
Represent Testing in Business & Project/ Release meetings both BAU and decision making
Capture and Report Test Metrics as per Process. Analyze the Metric trends, plan & implement improvement actions as necessary
Manage Test Team reporting into you and support team development activities for the Testing Team
People Responsibilities
Good people management skills – Guide, Lead and motivate the team
Contribute to people initiatives including recruiting, retaining and training
Should come up with innovative and smart ways of doing work, without compromising on quality
Understand and follow workplace policies and procedures

BE/BTech/MCA
Overall 4-10 years of hands on experience in Testing all types of Mobile Applications(Native, Hybrid, Mobile web) on handheld devices and cloud device farms (Browserstack, Sauce labs, Perfecto, etc) is a must
Should have excellent communication skills & should be able to articulate concisely & clearly
Should be an individual contributor cum Team Leader
Should have experience in Testing of Mobile Applications for iPhone/ iPad (iOS), Android Smartphones/Tablets.
Good understand of Mobile Technologies like 4G, 3G, GPRS, Wi-Fi etc. Knowledge of MDM (Mobile Device Management), Mobile Application Management (MAM) & Security aspects
Exposure to different debugging tools for all Mobile platforms is desirable.
Should have device level application performance testing knowledge
Should have a flair for learning emerging technologies in Mobile space and developing Innovative thinking in Mobile Testing
As a Test Architect/ Lead should have created Test Strategy & Test Plan for Testing Mobile Applications and for Testing Enterprise Applications that are moderate to complex Systems. Should be familiar with Test Estimation techniques
Hands on experience with Test Management and Defect Management tools including HP ALM, JIRA, Azure DevOps
Exposure to Quality Processes, Templates and Metrics for Testing is required
Able to contribute as an individual contributor and when required lead a small team
Good understanding of SDLC, Agile testing methodologies
Good understanding of project life cycle and test life cycle. Exposure to CMMi and process improvement frameworks is a plus
Experience in Usability (User experience) & Accessibility Testing which covers industry standards like WCAG2.0/ 2.1 for mobile applications.
Nice To Have Skills
Experience in RFP and pre-sales
Experience in test automation for mobile apps is a plus
Exposure to Non UI Testing like Web service testing,API testing,SOA testing
Experience in backend testing of SQL server is a plus
Responsive & adaptable to customer and project needs.
Exposure to Global Projects and working with Clients at onsite is desirable
Exposure/ Experience in Non-Functional Testing (Performance & Load Testing, Infrastructure, Security Testing etc) would be an added advantage
Should be ready to travel based on the Project & Client needs
Knowledge of Mobile Application Management- control, security and compliance with respect to Mobile Application distribution & deployment is desirable. Understanding of Enterprise mobile infrastructure and cross platform development platforms like is desirable
