Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for both Supplier Quality Assurance and Supplier Development.
  • Design, implement, and improve supplier quality processes to ensure compliance with GEHC QMS, regulatory standards, and drive continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Sourcing, and Manufacturing teams to identify and develop parts and suppliers, especially during NPI and supplier transfer programs.
  • Lead activities like supplier qualification, audits, corrective actions, and performance monitoring, aiming for industry-best standards.
  • Apply strong technical understanding of engineering drawings and manufacturing processes to reduce Cost of Quality—including FOA/FOI, field failures, and factory defects.
  • Develop deep expertise in specific manufacturing processes and apply it to execute strategies and policies.
  • Typically an individual contributor role requiring strong communication and collaboration across teams.
  • Influence purchasing controls and process execution using sound judgment and standard practices.
  • Use technical skills and analytical thinking to solve problems, often leveraging cross-functional insights.

Education & Experience

Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering, or BS degree with 5+ years in Supplier Quality, or Associate degree with 10+ years in Supplier Quality or Manufacturing Engineering.

Desired Characteristics

Technical Tools

  • Proficient in Minitab, Excel, Power BI, and ERP systems like Oracle.

Quality & Process Knowledge

  • Strong understanding of PPAP/APQP and tools like FMEA, MSA, DOE, Process Validation, CAPA.

Manufacturing Expertise

  • Knowledge in one or more manufacturing processes such as Casting, Injection Molding, Machining, Sheet Metal Fabrication.
  • Skilled in reading engineering drawings and GD&T, and recommending cost-effective manufacturing methods.

Problem Solving

  • Strong root cause analysis and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to lead and influence cross-functional and global teams to drive change.

ASQ Certified Quality Engineer. Demonstrated knowledge of Quality Management System tools, continuous improvement methodologies and in-depth understanding of site level products and related processes. Demonstrated ability to analyse and resolve problems. Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs. Established project management skills Demonstrated expertise to effectively communicate within all levels of the organization around concepts of design controls, design verification and validation activities; production and process controls; Corrective and Preventive Action (CAPA), complaints and risk management; & product quality improvement using tools such as six sigma, DFR, etc. Demonstrated ability to lead, acknowledge, develop, communicate and implement a strategy to ensure compliance. Demonstrated collaboration, negotiation and conflict resolution skills. Excellent oral communication and report, business correspondence and procedure-writing skills.
