about The Position
Chevron ENGINE has an exciting opportunity for a Environmental Project Manager to join the Project Engineer team. Reporting to the Manager, this role will be based in Chevron’s office in Bengaluru.
The Environmental Project Manager leads site-level environmental initiatives across Asset Retirement Downstream & Legacy sites, driving progress in site assessments and remediation activities. This role is responsible for overseeing contractor performance, developing and approving scopes of work, reviewing and approving contractor execution plans, directing fieldwork, and ensuring alignment with project timelines and regulatory requirements. The Project Manager serves as the primary point of contact for external partners and internal stakeholders, facilitating clear communication and resolving issues that may impact environmental outcomes. Additionally, the role collaborates with data and reporting technologists to ensure accurate tracking of site metrics and deliverables, enabling informed decision-making and continuous improvement
Chevron ENGINE supports global operations, and work hours are aligned to business needs. Standard working hours are 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM or 1:30 PM to 10:30 PM, Monday to Friday. These may evolve based on operational or business requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Contractor Oversight:
Oversee contractor performance, ensuring fieldwork is executed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with regulatory and internal standards. Verify work quality, adherence to timelines, proper documentation, reporting and closeout of all aspects of the project.
Site Assessment & Remediation Leadership:
Lead environmental initiatives at Asset Retirement sites, focusing on site assessments, remediation activities, and continuous improvement of environmental outcomes
Stakeholder Engagement:
Serve as the primary point of contact for external partners (regulators, contractors, consultants) and internal stakeholders (site teams, leadership), facilitating clear communication and timely resolution of issues.
Project Controls & Scheduling:
Develop and manage project schedules for environmental activities, coordinate with contractors and internal teams, and maintain alignment with project milestones. Assess schedule impacts of scope changes and update plans accordingly. Manage project costs including review and approval of initial cost estimates as well as ongoing project invoices.
Regulatory Compliance:
Ensure all site activities comply with applicable environmental regulations, company policies, and best practices. Support audits, reporting, and incident investigations as needed.
Data & Reporting Collaboration:
Work closely with data and reporting technologists to ensure accurate tracking of site metrics, remediation progress, reporting (external & internal) and closeout deliverables. Support the development and/or improvement of dashboards and reporting tools for real-time insights and performance monitoring.
Continuous Improvement:
Collect and utilize lessons learned and site data to drive improvements in environmental management practices, reporting workflows, and project execution.

Education:
To be considered for this role, applicants should have:
bachelor’s degree in environmental or civil engineering, or related field from a recognized institution.
Experience:
8+ years of experience in environmental project management, site assessment, and remediation, preferably within the oil & gas or industrial sector. Proven experience as a project manager, managing contractors and multi-disciplinary teams.
Technical Skills:
Strong knowledge of environmental regulations, remediation technologies, and project controls. Experience with data management and reporting systems is highly desirable.
Analytical & Problem-Solving:
Excellent organizational and analytical skills, with the ability to recognize and resolve issues impacting environmental outcomes.
Collaboration & Communication:
Demonstrated ability to work effectively across teams and with diverse stakeholders. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to independently manage environmental remediation projects and drive project outcomes through management of multiple contractors. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
