Job Title: Vice President, Software Engineering

WI Tech India is a critical extension of the global engineering organization and is expanding its leadership presence across top programs and modernization initiatives, with DC Recordkeeping as a strategic priority.

The Purpose of This Role

As the Vice President, Engineering Leader for DC Recordkeeping, you will own and advance the technology strategy, delivery, and engineering excellence for Fidelity’s recordkeeping platforms.

You will lead high‑performing engineering teams, shape the long‑term modernization agenda, and partner closely with US and India leaders to deliver resilient, secure, and scalable systems that meet evolving business and market needs.

This role requires an experienced and a hands-on technologist who thinks strategically, operates with executive presence, and drives outcomes across a global organization.

Key Responsibilities –

Strategic Leadership

• Define and execute the multi‑year technology vision for DC Recordkeeping aligned to WI Tech priorities.
• Ability to adapt to a reset of strategy and being able to help navigate the teams towards the goals
• Providing thought leadership, ability to reimagine existing practices/solutions, ability to question status quo and bring alternatives to the forefront
• Champion modernization, security, cloud adoption, and architectural simplification.
  
  

Engineering Excellence

• Ensure delivery of high‑quality, performing, and reliable platforms through modern engineering practices (CI/CD, automation, observability, SRE).
• Guide teams on scalable design, performance, resiliency, and user experience standards.
• Enhancing productivity through the latest toolstack / innovation focus/ creative business problem solving mindset
• Technology leadership
• Experience with large transformation program - Demonstrated experience of building enterprise grade green field and brown field solution
• Can operate systems and processes at scale
• Ability to understand the enterprise, being able to build a view of Tech landscape, appreciation of Core and Common Enterprise capabilities, Architecture and Enterprise Governance compliance to Tech standards and being able to augment the same.

• Lead and own critical technology initiatives from concept to execution, ensuring clarity, alignment, and measurable business impact.
• Track progress, manage risks, and ensure transparent communication and timely escalation.

• Build trusted partnerships with Product, Business, Architecture, global engineering teams, and senior leadership.
• Communicate strategy, insights, and recommendations with clarity across technical and non‑technical audiences.

• Strong understanding of cloud platforms, DevSecOps practices, observability, and automation.
• Ability to guide teams on performance, scalability, security, and reliability requirements.
• Experience delivering large‑scale platforms with high transaction volumes and complex integration landscapes.
• Ability to articulate technical concepts clearly to non‑technical stakeholders.
• Strong problem‑solving skills, analytical ability, and being able to quickly assimilate complex information.
  
  

The Expertise We are Looking For

• 20+ years of relevant engineering and leadership experience.
• Demonstrated success leading large‑scale, high‑impact technology initiatives.
• Prior experience in modernization, cloud transformation, or mission‑critical platform engineering strongly preferred.
• MBA preferred but not required.
