Standard Chartered is investing significantly in digital transformation to improve our productivity, client and employee experience and creating capacity to reinvest in incremental growth activities. Transaction Banking (TB) invests ~300M USD in change initiatives to drive these transformation outcomes, reduce risk and address regulatory compliance.
The TB PMO role will focus on one or more of these initiatives / Programmes, to drive oversight, governance assurance, and accuracy of reported information in Steering Committees, forums and our Enterprise tool for program/project monitoring and reporting project (Clarity). They will be responsible for implementing and maintaining effective controls and governance across Programme and delivery teams and stakeholder groups, whilst fostering collaboration both the Programme and with broader Transaction Banking teams, to drive effective and measurable client outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Project Management and Governance
Manage governance and financials for the Programme/project and coordinate with all relevant stakeholders across business and technology (as well as relevant support functions)
Partner with relevant stakeholders, to ensure adherence to Bank standards and governance framework
Develop and maintain comprehensive project artefacts including Benefits Management Plan, Headcount reporting, Benefits reporting, Programme Steering Commitment reporting, Project plans, RAID logs, Delivery plans and general updates to stakeholders
Prepare materials and facilitate the weekly meetings including Working Group and Steerco meetings, ensuring timeliness, accuracy and relevance of data
Identify and proactively manage project risks, issues, assumptions and dependencies, escalating as required if benefit commitments may not be achieved
Coordinate with risk and issue owners to regularly reassess residual risks and mitigation plans
Ensure Clarity (the Enterprise tool for program/project monitoring and reporting) is up to date including financials forecasts, actuals, benefits, risks, issues, milestone dates etc
Encourage and enforce high standards of quality, accuracy and consistency in all project and programme logs, trackers and reporting materials. Provide a programme quality assurance capability; conduct scheduled and ad hoc reviews of all programme materials and ensure that programme data is complete and accurate in the enterprise reporting system (Clarity).
Drive formal handover to BAU including the formal programme closure when required
Financial Management
Collaborate with Programme Team, PMO. Product Owners and other relevant teams to ensure accurate project forecasting and actuals
Track and validate recharges, third party spend and internal resource allocations
Support financial governance by ensuring variances are monitored and reported
Support the Project Initiative owner in meeting the programme’s financial commitments in each year and over the life of the programme.
Encourage and enforce high standards of quality, accuracy and consistency in all project and programme logs, trackers and reporting materials.
Stakeholder Management
Build and maintain strong, positive relationships with stakeholders across functions
Ensure regular and transparent communication of project progress, risks and key decisions
Engage stakeholders to align on priorities and resolve issues collaboratively
Drives team members toward delivering on their commitments
Effectively manage difficult interpersonal situations and drive consensus where needed
Regulatory & Business Conduct

Educated to degree level or equivalent experience

10+ years’ experience in a Banking environment
5+ years’ experience managing financials for large scale $5-10m+ USD Programmes
