What’s The Role

As a Software Engineer specializing in S/4HANA Development, you will leverage strong SAP ABAP expertise along with sharp analytical and problem‑solving skills to design and deliver high‑quality SAP solutions in close collaboration with business analysts, stakeholders, and senior team members. You are expected to demonstrate integrity, transparency, resilience, and sound judgment under pressure while driving exceptional business outcomes, including implementing changes with minimal to no disruption. You will actively seek external insights to broaden your technical knowledge, embrace diverse perspectives, and collaborate effectively across teams and cultures to accelerate delivery and continuously enhance solution quality.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Apply strong SAP ABAP development expertise, combined with analytical and problem‑solving skills, to build SAP solutions in close collaboration with business analysts, stakeholders, and senior team members.
  • Develop, test, debug, and optimize ABAP programs to support the implementation, enhancement, and maintenance of various SAP functional areas.
  • Design, code, and test programs, interfaces, and custom objects for SAP modules using the ABAP programming language.
  • Provide technical support for SAP ABAP components, including integrations with third‑party systems.
  • Work with business analysts to translate functional requirements into clear and complete technical specifications.
  • Identify feasible technical solutions within the SAP framework and estimate the effort required to address requirements and gaps.
  • Review functional specifications to ensure completeness and readiness for development.
  • Manage multiple assignments while supporting ongoing application maintenance and resolving production incidents.
  • Collaborate with internal and external technical teams to drive continuous improvements and system enhancements.
  • Partner with analysts to assess the impact of system and process changes across applications and workstreams.
  • Document system changes, technical designs, and testing outcomes in alignment with SDLC and audit requirements.
  • Develop specialized reports using ABAP and related SAP reporting tools.
  • Provide guidance to IT team members on development standards, best practices, and ABAP methodologies.
  • Support business analysts in creating and maintaining training materials and reference documentation.
  • Participate in technical requirement gathering, develop prototypes or proof‑of‑concepts, and deliver high‑quality technical specifications and documentation even with limited initial information.
  • Conduct peer code reviews to ensure quality, maintainability, and adherence to development standards.

What You Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or an equivalent field.
  • 5–8 years of overall technical experience, including a minimum of 3 years in S/4HANA and ABAP development across implementation projects.
  • Experience in at least one full-cycle SAP implementation (preferred).
  • Hands-on experience building SAP interfaces, enhancements, and reports, with SAP Workflow development exposure (preferred).
  • Strong expertise in Enhancement Framework, OData services, ALE/IDoc, OO/ALV, BAPI, and ALV reports.
  • Proven experience developing and modifying SAP forms including Smart Forms and Adobe Forms.
  • Practical experience working on S/4HANA implementation projects.
  • Experience of ABAP CDS views, S/4HANA extensibility options (in-app and side‑by‑side), and Restful application programming (RAP).
  • Demonstrated ability to translate functional specifications into robust technical designs using SAP programming tools including ABAP, OO/ALV reporting, and form development technologies.
  • Proven development experience and solid functional understanding of at least two SAP modules such as MM, SD, PM, FI/CO, PS etc.
  • Strong self-driven approach, ownership mindset, and results-oriented working style.
  • SAP technical certifications are a strong advantage.
