Job Description

Ecolab is looking for a Sr Software Engineer to enhance, maintain and support business application platforms. The Sr Software Engineer will apply engineering and programming best practices to deliver and enhance software solutions that meet business needs. Designs, codes, tests, debugs and documents those solutions. Works directly with peers in digital technology organization as well as with business associates on projects and support. Self-motivated professional, able to function independently and within a team structure.

What You Will Do

  • Provide technical design/support/development for various business application platforms supporting Ecolab GBS business areas globally
  • Ability to apply strong analytical skills even in areas currently not proficient or vaguely defined
  • Provide analysis needed to resolve support issues, optimize system performance and ensure the availability, performance and application security of critical business platforms
  • Provide operational support for various business applications
  • Provide technical guidance to junior team members
  • Collaborate with technology peers and third-party vendor support teams on support issues and solutions to meet business needs
  • Participate in periodic maintenance activities, refreshes, patching, disaster recovery and upgrades
  • Drive solutions to support issues to successful completion within the support SLA
  • Responsible for the support and proactive monitoring of the business applications including installation, performance, break fixes and change requests per business requirements
  • Create and maintain detailed business application documentation

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in a relevant discipline (Computer Science, Engineering or MIS) or equivalent work experience
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in Information Technology
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in software installation, upgrades, performance tuning, support and administration
  • Experience with applications running on Windows/UNIX Operating System
  • Experience with application and server monitoring tools (SCOM, Elastic, AppDynamics)
  • Experience working with third-party support teams
  • Able to act independently, seeking guidance and advice as appropriate

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with SAP integrated business applications
  • Experience with integration via sFTP, API, EDI, RFC
  • Experience with SaaS solutions
  • Experience developing jobs in scheduling software UC4/Automic Automation or similar scheduling tool
  • Experience with ServiceNow
  • Knowledge of security, database, hardware, networks and cloud & virtualization concepts
