Job Summary

Job Summary

As a Senior Software Engineer in the Prisma SD-WAN team, you will occupy a unique position at the intersection of hardware-software integration and core networking. You will be responsible for the lifecycle of our Next-Generation platforms—from low-level platform bring-up and security (TPM/FIPS) to the high-performance networking protocols that drive our SD-WAN fabric. As a Platform Software Engineer, you will be expected to participate in all phases of the product development cycle, from definition, design, through implementation, test and field deployment. This includes developing functional specifications, assessing task requirements and scheduling, and collaborating with cross-functional teams like ASIC, Hardware, Diags, Manufacturing, Quality assurance and Customer Support teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Work from start to finish on product design, starting with conceptualization through to implementation and deployment.
• Innovate new product features based on customer, partner, and technical support engineer feedback
• Proactively identify product features for improvement and innovation.
• Troubleshoot changes to the product to ensure high-quality output of the product design
  
  

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

• Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science or a related field
• 5+ years of professional software development experience in Linux systems programming and networking software.
• Extensive hands-on programming skills in C/C++, Python, or Go.
• Extensive experience with Linux Kernel, user-space drivers, and system bring-up (FPGA, PHY, Optics, or Storage controllers).
• Deep understanding of the TCP/IP stack (ARP, IP, ICMP, TCP, UDP) and Layer 2/3 routing protocols like BGP and OSPF
• Strong experience in multi-core, multi-threaded programming and debugging Linux kernel performance or memory issues.
• Familiarity with DPDK, x86 architecture and high-availability (HA) failover mechanisms.
  
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with multi-core/multi-process/multi-threaded programming with strong OS concepts.
• Excellent system debugging and troubleshooting skills with proficiency in tools like GDB and Wireshark.
• Experience with solution scale, performance, interoperability, and failover testing of distributed systems.
