MT_106- Design Engineer

Position Overview

This role is responsible for supporting product design improvements, engineering changes, and cost reduction initiatives for specialty trailers, transportation equipment, and custom vehicle systems. The Design Engineer will contribute to new product development activities including 3D modeling, detailing, and design validation while supporting manufacturing and cross-functional teams. The role involves developing engineering drawings, BOMs, and technical documentation to deliver reliable, high-quality, and manufacturable solutions aligned with customer and industry requirements.

Key Responsibilities / Functions

• Support product development activities through concept modeling, detailing, and design validation.
• Create and modify 3D models, assemblies, and manufacturing drawings in SolidWorks based on customer requirements and engineering inputs.
• Prepare detailed fabrication drawings, BOMs, and engineering documentation for specialty vehicle and transportation products.
• Execute engineering changes and design updates while maintaining drawing standards and revision control.
• Work closely with manufacturing and fabrication teams to ensure designs are practical, manufacturable, and aligned with production requirements.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Project Management, Quality, Regulatory, and Testing teams to deliver design tasks on schedule and per standards.
  
  

• Proficiency in 2D drafting and 3D modeling, preferably using SolidWorks.
• Solid understanding of mechanical component and assembly design, including material selection, part tolerancing, and tolerance stack-up analysis.
• Working knowledge of manufacturing processes such as machining, sheet metal, and finishing techniques.
• Basic understanding of design verification and validation methodologies
• Ability to manage multiple technical tasks and deliverables in a regulated environment.

• Exposure/experience to work in a global engineering team environment
• Strong analytical and complex problem-solving skills
• Curious nature & Self-starter who can work with minimal guidance/ supervision
• Ability & willingness to travel locally, nationally, or internationally when required
