Role Summary
The Senior Analyst will be responsible for managing the full spectrum of accounting and financial reporting activities related to venture investments. This role involves owning the month-end and quarter-end close processes, investment lifecycle recording, and monthly fair value assessments, including token-related activities. The Senior Analyst will collaborate closely with Legal, Tax, and Ventures teams to ensure accurate accounting treatment of complex transactions, drive process improvements to enhance efficiency, and support audit and SOX compliance efforts. Additionally, they will provide insightful ad-hoc financial analysis and contribute to special projects, playing a key role in maintaining the accuracy, transparency, and scalability of investment accounting functions in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Own and manage key aspects of the month-end and quarter-end close process, including preparing journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statements related to venture investments to ensure timely and accurate reporting.
- Manage the end-to-end life cycle of investment recording, including tracking capital calls, distributions, acquisitions, and dispositions with accuracy and compliance.
- Oversee monthly token activities such as issuance, transfers, conversions, and perform fair value assessments to reflect current market conditions.
- Conduct monthly assessments of investments for observable changes in fair value due to conversions, follow-on investments, or market movements, and lead quarterly impairment assessments by gathering relevant information and collaborating with the investments team.
- Identify, recommend, and implement process improvements and automation opportunities to increase efficiency, accuracy, and scalability within the investment accounting function.
- Partner with Legal, Tax, and Ventures teams to operationalize new and complex business transactions, ensuring accurate accounting treatment and proper documentation for all activities.
- Support internal and external audits by preparing necessary documentation, responding to inquiries, and ensuring compliance with US GAAP and Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) internal control requirements.
- Take ownership of ad-hoc projects and provide financial analysis, modeling, and insights to support strategic decision-making and special business initiatives.
