Job Summary -
As a seasoned member of our Managed Services team, you will take a lead role in designing, implementing, and optimizing the Hardware Asset Management (HAM) lifecycle and Configuration Management Database (CMDB) practices. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, vendor partners, and stakeholders to ensure robust asset governance, compliance, and lifecycle management that supports operational efficiency and strategic IT goals. Your expertise will enable the organization to effectively manage physical IT assets, improve inventory accuracy, reduce risks, and drive continuous process improvements leveraging ITIL best practices and automation tools.
You will function as a key contributor in the Strategic Program Management Office, helping to align asset and configuration management strategies with organizational objectives, ensuring comprehensive visibility into hardware resources and their status across the enterprise.

The IT Hardware Asset Management Analyst is responsible for the strategic management of technology-related hardware within the organization. This includes planning, monitoring, and recording hardware assets to ensure compliance with vendor contracts. The individual will assists in developing and implementing procedures for tracking company assets to oversee quality control throughout their lifecycles.
Summary Of Duties
- Lead and manage end-to-end hardware asset lifecycle processes including acquisition, deployment, inventory tracking, maintenance, refresh, and disposal, ensuring full compliance with vendor contracts and corporate policies.
- Own and continuously optimize the CMDB to ensure accuracy, completeness, and integration with other ITSM and enterprise management tools.
- Drive HAM process improvements aligned with ITIL best practices, leveraging automation and workflow orchestration tools to increase efficiency and data integrity.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive dashboards, KPI reports, and executive-level presentations for hardware asset status, risks, utilization trends, compliance, and cost metrics.
- Collaborate with procurement, finance, IT operations, and service teams to align asset management efforts with budgeting, financial planning, service delivery, and audit requirements.
- Establish and manage hardware asset tagging standards, data governance, and reconciliation procedures to support accurate hardware inventory and CMDB synchronization.
- Lead annual physical inventories and audits, develop root cause analysis for discrepancies, and implement corrective actions to improve future accuracy.
- Manage warranty, license, and contract lifecycle tracking for hardware assets to reduce risks related to expired support or non-compliance.
- Mentor and provide guidance to junior team members to build HAM competency and operational excellence.
- Coordinate with security and compliance teams to ensure asset controls meet regulatory and audit requirements.
- Participate in strategic projects such as hardware refresh programs, consolidations, or migrations with strong focus on asset tracking and data accuracy.
- Conduct risk assessments related to hardware asset management practices and implement mitigation plans.
Requirements
- Deep understanding of ITIL framework, specifically Configuration and Asset Management processes.
- Extensive hands-on experience with Hardware Asset Management tools and CMDB platforms (ServiceNow CMDB, BMC Atrium, Ivanti, or equivalent).
- Strong knowledge of IT hardware technologies including servers, network devices, storage, and end-user computing devices.
- Proficiency with data analysis and reporting tools (Excel advanced, Power BI, Tableau, or similar).
- Expertise in process improvement methodologies such as Lean, Six Sigma will be an advantage.
- Strong project/program management skills to lead HAM enhancements and compliance initiatives.
- Excellent interpersonal and stakeholder management skills with the ability to communicate complex technical information clearly.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
- Demonstrated experience developing and implementing asset tagging, tracking, and reconciliation procedures.
- Solid understanding of supplier/vendor contract compliance related to IT hardware lifecycle management.
