At PwC, our people in deals focus on providing strategic advice and support to clients in areas such as mergers and acquisitions, divestitures, and restructuring. They help clients navigate complex transactions and maximise value in their business deals. Those in deal integration and valuation realisation at PwC will focus on assisting clients in successfully integrating acquisitions and maximising the value of their investments. You will be responsible for conducting valuations, financial analysis, and developing strategies for post-merger integration.

Core responsibilities as a Manager (PiD Specialist) would entail (but not be limited to)

As a Manager (PiD Specialist) in the team, you’ll be at the heart of our delivery on some of the most complex and high-profile transactions in the market. You will work closely with colleagues to support with leading client engagements, managing workstreams, and acting as a trusted advisor to client stakeholders.

Drawing on your people expertise, you’ll help organisations navigate critical workforce challenges across the deal lifecycle — from planning and execution to integration and transformation.

You will also play a pivotal role in developing our people, shaping propositions, and driving business development opportunities, ensuring that our practice continues to grow and succeed.

Your Responsibilities May Include

  • Direct interaction with and ability to build trusted relationships with People leaders and other senior business stakeholders;
  • Managing workstream delivery to time, quality, and budget, while providing insight and lessons learned from previous projects;
  • Coaching and developing colleagues at all levels, providing feedback and guidance to enhance technical, interpersonal, and consulting skills across the team;
  • Working with cross-functional PwC teams to bring integrated solutions to client challenges;
  • Driving business development by scoping people related activities on transactions, contributing to proposals, and shaping compelling client propositions;
  • Supporting the development of our practice through thought leadership, knowledge sharing, and sector-specific initiatives.

Must-have Skills

Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to engage credibly with the UK PiD team and client stakeholders, managing upwards effectively;

Excellent quantitative and written skills, able to build analyses or an evidence base to support a position, often in situations with imperfect or incomplete information.

Strong analytical skills and data literacy; proficiency in Excel, Power BI, or other data tools is preferred;

Ability to leverage AI and digital tools to enhance analysis, improve efficiency, and deliver innovative solutions to clients.

Ability to manage shifting timelines and ambiguous project environments;

A healthy curiosity, coupled with a disciplined approach to understanding and solving problems.

Comfortable under pressure and managing through ambiguity to deliver tasks in an environment where there are many unknowns.

Adaptable, and up for the challenge of mastering new sectors and developing experience across a wide range of subject areas.

Experience

Proven success in leading workstream delivery, managing priorities, and producing high-quality outputs ideally under the pressures of a deal environment;

Some experience of working on deals (integration, carve-out, or post-deal), ideally combined with broader business transformation experience and a people focused background;

Experience in coaching, mentoring, and performance managing teams to support with the continuous improvement of capability and performance;

Experience in consulting or professional services would be advantageous, but not essential.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Past Experience: 5+ years of prior relevant work experience.
  • Some experience in M&A or management consulting domain would be advantageous.
