Director - COO – Global Fund Finance Managed Services (Blackstone Account)

Location: Bengaluru | Scale: 600–700 FTE | Employer: PwC

Role Summary

PwC is operating Blackstone’s Global Fund Finance function, delivering end-to-end fund accounting and reporting across Private Equity, Credit, and Real Estate funds. The COO is the senior operational leader in Bengaluru accountable for service delivery, control discipline, talent outcomes, and continuous improvement—partnering closely with Blackstone stakeholders on day-to-day operations and escalations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Delivery leadership: Own fund books (US GAAP/IFRS), monthly/quarterly close and NAVs, capital activity and allocations, investment accounting entries, reconciliations, fee/expense allocation, and carried interest/waterfall support.
  • Stakeholder governance: Lead operational governance with Blackstone India and US leadership, ensure timely decisioning, and manage risks/escalations through clear, structured communication.
  • Control & quality: Embed robust operational controls, issue prevention, and audit-ready execution; drive root-cause fixes and sustained remediation.
  • Org leadership at scale: Lead a 600–700 FTE multi-layer organization; build high-performing technical teams, strengthen leadership bench, and sustain a strong service culture in a competitive talent market.
  • Operating model & transformation: Set and execute a clear multi-year agenda for standardization, automation, and delivery model evolution (including agile ways of working where applicable).
  • Strong track record building scalable, tool-enabled operations and converting ideas into measurable outcomes (cycle time, quality, cost-to-serve).
  • Recognized for high judgment, analytical problem solving, and proactive risk identification in fast-paced environments.
  • Leadership style that builds followership, collaboration, and durable relationships; aligns delivery culture to Blackstone’s values and leaves a positive legacy.
  • Maintain strong people practices: hiring, retention, succession planning, and culture of accountability and service excellence.

Experience & Qualifications

  • 17–20+ years in alternatives fund finance operations (PE/Credit/RE) with end-to-end fund accounting expertise (NAV, partner capital, allocations, fees/carry/waterfalls).
  • Proven leadership of large-scale operations (ideally 600+ FTE) with global stakeholder engagement and demanding close cycles.
  • CA/CPA/CMA/MBA (preferred).
