IBM Power High Availability Product Manager

Introduction

The Product Manager for IBM Power High Availability will own the strategy, roadmap, and execution for a portfolio of high-availability and disaster recovery solutions, including PowerHA AIX, PowerHA IBM i, VM Recovery Manager, Capacity Backup (CBU), and Backup, Recovery & Media Services (BRMS). This portfolio is critical to ensuring business continuity for IBM Power clients worldwide.

This role requires a strong blend of technical understanding, business acumen, and customer engagement skills. The successful candidate will shape offerings and drive market adoption through close collaboration with internal teams and ecosystem partners.

Product Strategy & Roadmap

• Define and maintain product roadmaps aligned with IBM Power’s overall strategy.
• Prioritize features and capabilities based on market trends, customer needs, and business impact.
  
  

• Collaborate closely with IBM Sales teams to position offerings and drive adoption.
• Develop go-to-market strategies for both on-premises and PowerVS deployment options.
  
  

• Engage directly with customers to gather feedback and identify emerging requirements.
• Translate insights into actionable product enhancements and future offerings.
  
  

• Work with Expert Labs and technical teams on complex customer opportunities.
• Ensure alignment across development, marketing, and support functions.
  
  

• Proven experience in product management or related roles within enterprise IT or high-availability solutions.
• Ability to influence cross-functional teams and manage multiple priorities.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills for engaging with executives, customers, and partners.
• Familiarity with hybrid cloud strategies and on-prem/cloud integration.
  
  

• Understanding of IBM Power Systems, AIX, IBM i, and disaster recovery technologies.
• Knowledge of capacity planning, backup/recovery methodologies, and compliance requirements.
• MBA or equivalent business experience is a plus.
