Job Summary

At PwC US - Acceleration Center, Software Engineering Managers in our CEDA (GenAI) practice play a critical role in translating complex business problems into scalable, production ready‑ data and AI solutions. You will blend hands-on‑ technical leadership with people management, guiding cross functional‑ engineering teams to design and build cloud native platforms that transform raw data into actionable insights and power ‑next generation AI capabilities. Growing as a strategic advisor, you will leverage your influence, expertise and network to deliver quality results, motivate and coach others, and solve problems through complexity while fostering an inclusive, high performing‑ culture.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide technical and people leadership for a multidisciplinary software engineering team, setting direction, prioritizing work, and ensuring timely, high-quality delivery.
• Architect, design and oversee implementation of cloud native data pipelines, APIs and microservices using Python, FastAPI, SQL and modern data platforms on AWS, Azure or GCP.
• Champion engineering excellence through developer led testing, CI/CD, IaC (Terraform, CloudFormation, ARM), automated quality gates and performance optimization.
• Partner with product owners, data scientists and business stakeholders to validate outcomes, refine requirements and communicate progress through clear, compelling storytelling.
• Ensure data architecture aligns with governance, security and privacy policies; implement IAM roles, encryption and least privilege access controls across clouds.
• Optimize cloud spend, monitor reliability, and drive continuous improvement using DevOps metrics and SRE practices.
• Mentor and coach engineers, fostering a culture of curiosity, psychological safety and continuous learning; conduct open and honest feedback conversations and guide career development.
• Evaluate emerging technologies and industry trends, make build vs buy recommendations and contribute to thought leadership within PwC US - Acceleration Center and the broader community.
• Model and reinforce the Firm’s Code of Conduct and independence requirements.
  
  

• 8+ years of professional software engineering experience with at least 2 years in a leadership role managing high performing teams.
• Expert level Python with a strong foundation in object-oriented design principles; working knowledge of JavaScript/TypeScript is desirable for full stack collaboration.
• Proven experience designing, building and maintaining REST / FastAPI endpoints and event driven microservices.
• Deep hands-on experience with cloud services across AWS, Azure or GCP, including but not limited to Lambda, Azure Functions, Event Bridge/Event Grid, API Gateway, AI Search, Cosmos DB, Azure SQL DB, RDS/PostgreSQL and managed Kubernetes (EKS/AKS/GKE).
• Proficiency with containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes) for scalable deployments.
• Familiarity with front‑end technologies (React, Angular or similar) sufficient to partner on end‑to‑end solution design.
• Operational excellence using GitHub (pull‑request workflows, Actions), Jira (or similar ticketing systems) and disciplined documentation practices.
• Demonstrated track record of delivering high software quality through developer‑led testing, automated validation, CI/CD and Infrastructure‑as‑Code (Terraform, CloudFormation, ARM).
• Strong grasp of data governance, security best practices and compliance frameworks, with ability to implement IAM, encryption and least privilege across clouds.
• Excellent analytical, problem solving and communication skills; able to translate technical concepts for diverse audiences.
• Passion for coaching and developing engineers while cultivating diverse and inclusive teams.
  
  

• Experience with React and PostgreSQL in largescale, distributed systems.
• Experience with machine learning / data science workflows and MLOps pipelines.
• Familiarity with AI powered developer tools such as GitHub Copilot or ChatGPT and a mindset of continuous experimentation.
• Practical knowledge of GenAI / AI / ML techniques, including Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG) pipelines, vector search and prompt engineering.
  
  

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
• Relevant cloud certifications (AWS, Azure or Google Professional) or data / AI certifications are a plus.
