Job Summary

You’ll focus on managing a broad range of ethics and compliance responsibilities, supporting the PwC US Ethics & Compliance program as well as the AC Kolkata Ethics & Compliance program and providing guidance on policy and our firm values to employees through communications, training and direct contacts seeking advice. The policy subject matter specialty areas may involve, among other things, privacy, information protection, information security and related topics. The role requires a high degree of independent judgment, fairness, and objectivity.

Our Compliance team is responsible for oversight of all Compliance activities by our PwC professionals. As part of the team, you’ll help promote and monitor compliance with applicable external and internal policies, laws and regulations and subsequently, manage PwC’s regulatory, litigation and reputational risk.

Job Description

As a Senior Manager in AC Kolkata Ethics and Compliance (E&C), you will be responsible for:

Ï Serving as a subject matter specialist in the development, interpretation, and maintenance of policies and practices through everyday business consultations and/or collaborations with key internal E&C stakeholders

Ï Designing, implementing and operating compliance monitoring programs for privacy, information protection, information security and related areas

Ï Conducting data incidents investigations involving confirmed or suspected violations of laws, regulations and/or policies from intake and triage through discipline and closure

Ï Coordinating and facilitating various inquiries and requests for consultation

Ï Performing privacy risk assessments in order to ensure compliance with applicable guidelines, policies and procedures

Ï Developing, managing and updating policies, guidance and processes

Ï Overseeing projects requiring agility, meeting deadlines, and collaborating with multiple stakeholders/groups

Ï Participating in Ethics & Compliance internal and external reviews

Ï Collaborating with key stakeholders across the firm including the People team, Risk Management, Information Security and the Office of General Counsel (OGC) to ensure compliance with the Ethics and Compliance policies and procedures

Ï Supporting functional leaders as needed from an ethics or compliance perspective, including colleagues in the People team, Risk Management and OGC, and transition to them matters more appropriate for their handling given their subject matter specialty

Ï Preparing trend analyses, analyzing ethics and compliance data and preparing reports for management

Ï Maintaining an up-to-date knowledge and understanding of firm’s and network requirements, compliance and reporting responsibilities

Ï Identifying opportunities for process enhancements and innovation, implementing best practices to improve program delivery and effectiveness

Ï Performing other related tasks as assigned

  • Possessing a subject matter expertise in privacy, information protection and related topics
  • Compiling and reporting on compliance monitoring results and metrics as needed
  • Participating in compliance violation/exception management process with key stakeholders
  • Assessing whether compliance programs and controls are operating as expected and effectively mitigating risks
  • Collaborating and creating synergy with other monitoring activities throughout the organization
  • Identifying opportunities for new, innovative and data driven ways to perform compliance monitoring
  • Operating with a high degree of independence and accountability
  • Developing, managing and updating policies, playbooks, guidance and processes
  • Outstanding organization, written and oral communication skills with experience in formulating strategy and presenting cogently to all levels of audiences

Basic Qualifications: Bachelor’s/Masters degree from a reputed university. LL.B., LLM and Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP) is preferable.
