Job Description
This role leads the enterprise data engineering and Data Vault 2.0 modeling capability within the Data Analytics & Insights Managed Service, owning architecture, governance, and delivery of data pipelines and models across cloud data warehouses. The manager will oversee the current WhereScape and Informatica estate and drive a strategic migration toward dbt and cloud-native platforms, ensuring reliable, compliant, and scalable data products that serve cross-functional analytics and business stakeholders. This role sits within the Managed Service construct and is accountable for service excellence, stakeholder engagement, and delivery outcomes aligned to enterprise standards, ways of working, and SLAs.
- Own the data engineering and Data Vault 2.0 roadmap, backlog, and delivery plan; define KPIs/SLAs and ensure service excellence across the Managed Service.
- Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing team of data engineers and modelers; drive workforce planning, capability development, and performance management. Mentor and manage a team of Senior Associates and Junior resources, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback.
- Serve as architecture owner: chair design reviews, enforce standards, and align with enterprise data platform and security governance.
- Manage stakeholder relationships (business, analytics, platform, security); translate demand into sequenced delivery; communicate risks, issues, and status clearly.

- Strong SQL/ELT patterns (CDC, SCD), performance optimization, CI/CD for data pipelines, and automated data testing; implement observability (logging, monitoring, alerting).
- Orchestration and scheduling, dependency management, standardized patterns for batch loads and schema evolution, with robust error handling and recovery.
- Governance and service delivery: define and meet SLAs; incident/change management; risk mitigation; clear stakeholder communication.
