The Operational, Technology and Cyber Risk (OTCR) organisation is instrumental in protecting and ensuring the resilience of Standard Chartered Bank’s operations, data, and IT systems by optimising operational, technology and cyber risk across the enterprise. As a critical function reporting into the Group Chief Risk Officer (CRO), the Group OTCR team serves as the second line of defence for assuring that controls are implemented effectively, in accordance with the OTCR Framework, and for instilling a risk culture within the Bank.
The AVP, OTCR, Material Controls will be responsible for the BAU management of material controls, ensuring the controls population remains effective, documented, tested, and monitored in line with the Bank’s risk appetite, regulatory expectations, and internal policies and standards.
The role reports directly to the Head, OTCR, ICS Framework, Risk Appetite & Stress Testing and will work closely with key stakeholders in Operational, Technology and Cyber risks, Finance and other parties as relevant.
This is a mid-management level role, and the individual will be required to engage with stakeholders across the business, technology, assurance, other risk functions and finance to implement the requirements of UK ACG for Material Controls in BAU.
We are seeking an experienced and senior leader who will be responsible for the following areas:
Key Responsibilities
Assist in the BAU management of UK ACG regulations requirements and reporting of material controls.
Maintain the repository of material controls across the Bank, ensuring they are risk-aligned and appropriately classified.
Produce clear, concise management and Board-level reporting on control effectiveness, ineffective controls and remediation progress and ageing.
Assist in the development of materials for regular updates to Head, OTCR, Risk MT, committees, on insights relating to material controls.
Support (as required) on matters relating to the central team requirements.
