automates complex payroll, time tracking, compliance, and workforce management workflows
for construction companies, helping contractors reduce administrative burden and stay
compliant in an increasingly complex labor environment.
We are looking for a high-energy, consultative Account Executive to help us grow our
mid-market and enterprise customer base.
This is a strategic sales role for someone who understands how to sell complex SaaS solutions
into organizations with multiple stakeholders, longer sales cycles, and sophisticated buying
processes. Experience selling payroll, HCM, workforce management, ERP, or related
enterprise software is highly valued. Experience selling into construction is a significant plus.
What You’ll Do
- Own the full sales cycle from prospecting and discovery through negotiation, close, and
handoff to implementation and customer success.
- Develop and execute account strategies for mid-market and enterprise prospects.
- Build relationships with senior decision-makers, including CEOs, CFOs, CHROs, CIOs,
VPs of HR, Payroll, Finance, and Operations.
- Lead consultative discovery to understand complex payroll, workforce, compliance, and
operational challenges.
- Clearly articulate Lumber's value proposition and demonstrate how our platform can
drive measurable business outcomes.
- Navigate complex buying committees and build consensus across multiple stakeholders.
- Develop compelling business cases and ROI-driven proposals that support
executive-level decision-making.
- Manage multi-threaded sales cycles involving payroll, HR, finance, operations, IT, and
executive leadership.
- Maintain accurate pipeline forecasts and consistently manage opportunities through
defined sales stages.
- Collaborate closely with Solutions Engineering, Product, Customer Success, Marketing,
and Leadership to win strategic accounts.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with channel and technology partners, including
ERP providers, VARs, consultants, and industry organizations.
- Leverage partners to source qualified opportunities, create executive introductions,
build credibility, and accelerate complex sales cycles.
- Work collaboratively with partners to develop joint account plans and coordinated
strategies for winning target accounts.
- Identify opportunities to expand relationships within existing accounts and generate
referrals.
What We’re Looking For
- 10 years of B2B SaaS sales experience, with a proven track record of selling to
mid-market and/or enterprise customers.
- Experience selling payroll, HCM, HR technology, workforce management, ERP,
financial software, or other business-critical SaaS solutions.
- Demonstrated success managing complex, consultative sales cycles with multiple
stakeholders and deal sizes.
- Strong understanding of how to sell into mid-market and enterprise organizations,
including executive engagement, stakeholder mapping, discovery, business case
development, procurement, and negotiation.
- Experience selling to CFO, CHRO, CIO, COO, CEO, VP of HR, Payroll, Finance, or
Operations personas.
- Proven ability to build and execute account plans and develop relationships across an
organization.
- Experience working with channel partners, VARs, system integrators, technology
partners, or industry associations to generate pipeline and close business.
- Ability to develop mutually beneficial partner relationships and create joint go-to-market
strategies.
- Strong presentation, negotiation, storytelling, and executive communication skills.
- A track record of consistently meeting or exceeding quota.
- Strong business acumen and the ability to understand complex customer problems and
translate them into compelling technology solutions.
- Experience with Salesforce or a comparable CRM.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience selling payroll or payroll-adjacent technology.
- Experience selling into the construction industry, including specialty contractors,
general contractors, electrical contractors, mechanical contractors, or other construction
businesses.
- Familiarity with construction payroll, prevailing wage, certified payroll, union payroll,
multiple pay rates, or complex labor compliance.
- Experience selling alongside or through ERP and technology partners, including
platforms such as Sage, Acumatica, NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar
ecosystems.
- Existing relationships within the construction, payroll, ERP, HCM, or workforce
technology ecosystem.
What Success Looks Like
In your first year, you will:
- Build a strong pipeline of qualified mid-market and enterprise opportunities.
- Develop trusted relationships with key executives and decision-makers.
- Consistently achieve or exceed your sales quota.
- Establish a productive network of partners that generates and accelerates opportunities.
- Become a trusted advisor to construction companies navigating complex payroll and
workforce challenges.
- Help Lumber establish and expand its position as the leading workforce and payroll
platform purpose-built for construction.
Why Lumber
You will join a fast-growing company at the intersection of construction, payroll, workforce
management, and AI. You’ll have the opportunity to work directly with senior leadership, shape
