Job Description

To carry out installation, operation, preventive maintenance, breakdown maintenance, and troubleshooting of electrical systems and equipment to ensure uninterrupted plant operations while complying with electrical safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive and breakdown maintenance of electrical equipment in the distillery, bottling, utilities, and warehouse.
  • Maintain motors, pumps, MCC panels, PCC panels, VFDs, transformers, switchgears, and control panels.
  • Attend electrical breakdowns and restore equipment within the minimum possible time.
  • Install and commission electrical equipment, cables, lighting, and control systems.
  • Inspect electrical systems regularly and identify potential faults.
  • Maintain DG sets, UPS systems, compressors, and utility electrical systems.
  • Assist in calibration and maintenance of electrical instruments and control devices.
  • Read and interpret electrical drawings, single-line diagrams (SLD), and wiring diagrams.
  • Ensure proper earthing, cable management, and electrical housekeeping.
  • Maintain electrical logbooks, maintenance records, and checklists.
  • Coordinate with production and maintenance teams during shutdowns and maintenance activities.
  • Ensure compliance with electrical safety standards, Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), and Permit to Work (PTW) procedures.
  • Support energy conservation initiatives and monitor power consumption.
  • Follow all statutory requirements under the Electricity Act, Factory Rules, and company safety procedures.

Qualification

  • ITI Electrician (Mandatory)
  • Diploma in Electrical Engineering (Preferred)

Experience

  • ITI: 3–6 years in a distillery, brewery, alcohol, chemical, FMCG, or process industry.
  • Diploma: 2–5 years in industrial electrical maintenance.

  • Electrical maintenance of industrial equipment.
  • Motors (AC/DC), pumps, and starters.

  • VFDs (Variable Frequency Drives) and soft starters.
  • Transformers and DG electrical systems.
  • PLC wiring and basic PLC troubleshooting.

  • Cable laying, termination, and jointing.
  • Electrical fault finding using multimeter, clamp meter, and insulation tester (Megger).
  • Reading electrical drawings and control circuits.
  • Preventive and predictive maintenance.
  • Basic knowledge of SCADA and instrumentation coordination.
  • Power factor correction and capacitor banks.
  • Energy-saving practices.

  • Electrical safety procedures.
  • Lockout/Tagout (LOTO).

  • Arc flash awareness.
  • First aid for electrical accidents.
  • Fire safety and emergency response.
  • Safe isolation and testing before maintenance.
