Job Description

A Restaurant Receptionist plays a pivotal role in shaping the customer's initial impression of the dining establishment. As the first point of contact, the receptionist greets and welcomes guests, ensuring a smooth and pleasant experience from the moment they arrive. They manage reservation bookings and seating arrangements, handle phone inquiries, and coordinate with the restaurant staff to maintain optimal service flow. Additionally, they assist with customer requests and resolve any issues that may arise promptly and professionally. This position requires excellent communication and organizational skills, a friendly demeanor, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, have a passion for customer service, and possess the ability to multitask effectively.


Responsibilities

  • Greet and welcome guests as they arrive at the restaurant.
  • Manage reservations and communicate seating arrangements to staff.
  • Answer telephone calls and provide information or assistance as needed.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and neatness of the front reception area.
  • Assist guests with any inquiries or requests they might have.
  • Coordinate with restaurant staff to ensure efficient seating and service flow.
  • Document and address guest feedback or complaints in a professional manner.
  • Schedule reservations and update the booking system accordingly.
  • Inform guests of any wait times and ensure comfortable waiting experience.
  • Help monitor the restaurant's guest flow and manage seat turnover rates.
  • Assist in resolving any reservation or dining conflicts promptly.
  • Support the restaurant team by completing clerical tasks as needed.

Requirements

  • Previous experience as a receptionist or in customer service preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, are essential.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and remain organized under pressure.
  • Friendly, outgoing personality with a positive approach to guest service.
  • Proficient in using reservation management software and related computer systems.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and capacity to address guest concerns swiftly.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed.
