Job Description

A Junior Architect plays a vital role in the architectural design process, contributing to project development and the execution of design plans. Working under the guidance of senior architects, they are responsible for assisting with design concepts, plan creation, and project coordination. Their role involves interpreting architectural drawings and integrating creative solutions, ensuring that project goals are met within budget and time constraints. Junior Architects often participate in client meetings, contribute to design discussions, and produce detailed documentation for construction. They must be adept in using design software, have a keen eye for detail, and possess excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with project stakeholders.


Responsibilities

  • Assist in creating and developing conceptual designs and detailed architecture plans.
  • Collaborate with senior architects to ensure design specifications are implemented correctly.
  • Produce architectural drawings, blueprints, and plans using specialized software tools.
  • Participate in client meetings to understand project requirements and expectations.
  • Contribute to feasibility studies, site inspections, and analysis for potential building sites.
  • Coordinate with various project teams to maintain alignment across all project phases.
  • Support the preparation of construction documents and detailed engineering submissions.
  • Assist in ensuring compliance with all building codes, safety regulations, and zoning laws.
  • Engage in design discussions and contribute innovative ideas to the architectural process.
  • Perform regular updates and maintenance of digital and physical archives of design documentation.
  • Coordinate with suppliers and contractors to obtain necessary project information.
  • Prepare presentations and visual displays to effectively communicate design concepts to clients.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Architecture or related field from an accredited institution.
  • Proficiency in architectural design software such as AutoCAD, SketchUp, and Revit.
  • At least 1-2 years of experience in an architectural or design firm setting.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for effective collaboration.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
  • Understanding of architectural design principles, building codes, and zoning laws.
