Job Description

An Admission Counsellor plays a pivotal role in guiding prospective students through the admission process of an educational institution. This position requires a professional who is passionate about education and skilled in communication and administration. The primary focus is to assist students and their families in navigating the complexities of enrollment, providing crucial information about program requirements, and facilitating the application, registration, and admission process. An Admission Counsellor is often the first point of contact and therefore must possess a welcoming demeanor and the ability to build rapport with a diverse range of individuals. The role involves understanding and conveying the institution's values, programs, and policies to prospective students, ensuring a seamless and informative experience. This position may also include travel to various educational fairs and events to represent the institution and attract potential candidates.


Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive information to prospective students about admission procedures and program offerings.
  • Assist students with application submissions, ensuring all paperwork is completed accurately and on time.
  • Maintain a robust understanding of the institution's program offerings and admission criteria.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with high schools and educational organizations.
  • Organize and conduct campus tours and informational sessions for prospective students and families.
  • Evaluate student applications, conducting interviews where necessary to assess candidates.
  • Participate in educational fairs, workshops, and networking events to promote the institution.
  • Provide personalized advice and counseling to students to align educational goals with program offerings.
  • Respond promptly to student inquiries via phone, email, and in-person meetings.
  • Collaborate with other departments to facilitate a smooth admission process and applicant transition.
  • Maintain accurate records of all interactions and transactions with prospective students.
  • Analyze trends in student recruitment and provide feedback to improve recruitment strategies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Communication, Marketing, or related field preferred.
  • Proven experience in student counseling, sales, or administrative roles in educational settings.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills for interaction with diverse individuals.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks effectively.
  • Proficiency in using CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite is essential.
  • Ability to travel for recruitment events and student engagement programs as needed.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
