The scope of this job is SQL Server database administration, which is responsible for the installation, testing, configuration, trouble shooting and maintenance of SQL Server 2012, 2014 and 2019 technologies in on Prem or cloud (Azure/AWS). The candidate should have been able to create, implement or recommend process refinement opportunities, making the database administration support model more efficient. The candidate must also be able to recognize automation opportunities as well that will reduce the amount of hands-on support. The ability to follow instructions both written and verbal is paramount as well as the ability to multi-task. Strong verbal skills are a must. Flexible work schedule is a must.
Job Responsibilities
Strong in operations management, technical skills and client servicing.
Database operations Services
Resolution of Incidents, Problem, Change and Work/Service requests for a specific or multiple clients, within SLA targets
Escalation of calls via the Unisys Call Management System and manual processes
Follow-up and closing off of completed calls/problems/changes
Resolution of calls to or from 3rd party service providers
Database Administration / Configuration / Patching/ Backup and Recovery and Cluster management
Execute DB Patching plan periodically to maintain the current patch state of the DB instances in sync with application team.
Implementation and tuning of SQL Databases
Configuration and management of SQL Database Backups
Demonstrate a solid understanding of cloud applications, and cloud technologies (in IaaS, PaaS)
Documentation of operational processes and procedures and technical specifications and documentation.
Contribution to continuous improvement process, provide quality assurance and peer review as needed.
Make recommendations to improve performance or capacity of current environments.
Proficient in High Availability and Maintainability solutions for log shipping, Database mirroring, replication, Always ON and clustered servers.
Experience on Powershell scripting, WMI scripting knowledge will be an added advantage and using the skills to automate day to day task like Patching, Index rebuilds, Job scheduling etc.
To manage the performance of services to clients as agreed in the contract and ensure that the service levels are achieved.

Flexible to work in Shifts and on Weekends to provide Services per Local Policies
You will be successful in this role if you have:
Skills, Education, And Experience
A relevant B.E./AMIE/IETE (Electronics/Electronics communication, Computer science); previous experience in IT may also qualify.
6-7+ years SQL Server DBA experience on installation, testing, commissioning, trouble shooting on production and development servers
Strong analytical, problem solving and strategic thinking skills to understand and anticipate the impact and opportunities across multiple projects.
Experience with Windows Operating systems. Candidate should be able to manage backup environments with heterogeneous operating systems.
Good knowledge on ITIL processes.
